I'm not on the Canello bandwagon by any means but explain how his boxing skills are mediocre. I just want a thorough point of view from other perspectives. I think he's a C+ to B- fighter.

I think C- is mediocre... C+ is a little above average. In any case....you didn't answer the question.

If you could please.... explain specifically why you think he has mediocre boxing skills.

ummm..... he doesn't move his head for one.

and keep in mind everyone he's been put in was put there to lay down.

chavez jr. looked better the other week. and he ain't even a technical boxer.

go watch his early stuff. He was too defensive. To the point that it would hurt his popularity. In his physical prime he was a better technically sound boxer than De la hoya and Canelo

With this post I didn't even need to respond....

Would you also agree that Alvarez is the most technically sound fighter since De la Hoya?

*Marquez is a great counterpuncher but his defense is lacking*

If I was a fighter, I really wouldn't take a word Oscar says seriously. I guess that's his job as a promoter.

He made Ortiz, Shane, Marquez and now Alvarez all feel good about themselves with his compliments. The first 3 ran into a brick wall. Who knows with the fourth.

Winky did not price himself out. He isn't at fault for this one buddy, no way no how.

"As of right now, it's no deal - they changed the money on me at the last second," said promoter Gary Shaw, who said he was close to finalizing the fight when he walked into Top Rank and Bob Arum's office Thursday.

But within seconds, he said, the deal evaporated.

"I walked in, I told him: "I believe we have a deal,' " Shaw said. "And Bob said, "so it's a deal - 55-45 (money split)'.

"I said, "Bob, that was never, ever discussed, no deal' and that was that."

The day before, Shaw said he and Arum had agreed to a 50-50 purse split as well as other requests from Mayweather's camp. He added that Wright adviser Jim Wilkes and Don King, who has an option on Wright's next fight, agreed as well.

According to Shaw, however, Arum said he did not remember that conversation. Arum was unavailable for comment.

Shaw and Arum were in Las Vegas to promote the Oct. 8 rematch between Diego Corrales and Jose Luis Castillo. Shaw promotes Corrales; Arum promotes Castillo.

"There were requests made by Floyd Mayweather, we laid it out and I think they were fair requests," Arum told maxboxing.com. "Gary rejected them, so there's no fight. We have to sit with Floyd and we'll figure out (what we do next). Maybe (Antonio) Margarito. It's unfortunate as far as the Winky Wright fight, but it's not going to happen."

They are all hof in my book!

Ricardo Lopez, Gilberto Roman,Marquez, Julio Cesar Chavez were an all around better boxer and puncher and bigger heart than De La hoya, and Vargas shouldn't even be on this class! But De La Hoya was undisputally the smartest NO DOUBT! De La hoya didnt won 10 titles in six different divisions, so it can't be denied his HOF status!
