Comments Thread For: Saul Alvarez Drops, Stops Kermit Cintron in Five Rounds

Plaza Mexico, Mexico City - WBC junior middleweight champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (39-0-1, 29KOs) stopped Kermit "The Killer" Cintron (33-5-1, 28KOs) in the fifth round. Cintron went down in the fourth after getting ****** with two hard right hands. He made up and survived until the end of the round, but he was rocked badly at the bell and struggled to get back to his own corner. A cut broke open on Cintron's nose. Cintron tried to get out on his shield in the fifth, and started taking a slow beating. Alvarez landed a combo against the ropes as the referee jumped in to save Kermit from further damage.

That fight was so weird..anyways I don't see anything special. Chavez has been looking better than this kid.

I think Cintron wanted the fight to end but ended up getting saved by the bell lol. He was out on the ropes.

Cintron also looked like he was concussed or something. After that first KO, he seemed to have lost all his coordination.

When the corner for Cintron was asking him where he was you knew that it was over. Strangely enough both fighters looked heavily winded by the end of the fight.

I agree they are both bums but Chavez Jr is a little better than Alvarez.

Good win for Canelo. Now lets see him against Paul Williams or Molina
