Lyle happened to fight during a period when the HW division was strong, with many capable guys -- compared to today, when you have the K bros and a revolving door of C level so-called contenders -- imaging what Lyle in his prime would have done to such pretenders as Arreola, Haye and Adamek....

Ron Lyle was one of those guys whose name is only known to the serious boxing fan. He didn't make it to the very top, but he gave the very best a run for their money and made for great fights. Men like him are the soul of the sport.

Rest in Peace, Ron. Your efforts will remain with us long after your passing.
