To be fair, I'm just afraid this may be another hype job. Broner looked good once he fired, Rodriguez came in with great attitude but just wasn't enough.

I think we were just too harsh on him against De Leon who is a crafty veteran fighter.

Now, he is stepping up his competition since he has a belt just like Canelo or Chavez Jr. Let us just enjoy that we have capable American boxing champions within the sport.

I know I'm sounding like a shill right now but we have to give credit where credit is due.

I also like Gary Russell Jr. I think he has the potential to connect to people who likes their champions with a gracious attitude. Still, I like Broner too. I can handle his swag.

Note: The only reason I don't like Mayweather is because he turned the rivalry between him and Pacquiao bordering into racism. Broner should stay out of it too. Don't fall like Bernard Hopkins saying "no white guy can knock me out."
