I don't agree with this.

It's not that these guys get stronger as the fight goes on. Their opponent just starts to wilt. Cotto needs to just not waste so much energy and clinch a little bit so he'll be fresher in the championship rounds.

He's much more skilled than Marg still and should be able to outbox the guy if he can make some small adjustments.

That’s what it boils down to “adjustments.” Cotto is the more skilled fighter as you said, but tweaking some things he did in the first fight combined to what Mosley already did to Margarito in their outing strategy wise Cotto could have one up on this….

I agree with pretty much everything you said, Cotto also needs to sit down on his punches in this fight and not fight off a back-foot sacrificing the leverage/power on his punches…

Cotto just needs to jab to the eye and go to the body draw blood and slow cheato down and stay off the ropes and in the middle of the ring using angles to keep cheat frustrated

He also needs to plant his feet and put his body into his punches. He arm punched to death in that first fight. Margarito has maybe the hardest head in boxing. Thats his talent. Thats what amazed me most with that fight. Suspect wraps or not, he took punches like his head was loaded with plaster. I think Cotto ends it in the middle rounds.

Cotto needs to fight on the inside... throw some short left hooks to the body and if thing goes tough throw a flurry to get some space and move.
