Comments Thread For: Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. Plans HBO Return on Jan. 28 or Feb. 4

WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. (44-0-1, 31KOs) will defend his title on either January 28th or February 4th, on HBO. The television network wants to place Chavez. Jr. on one of the two dates, after the young Mexican star generated a very high television rating for his HBO televised win over Peter Manfredo Jr. on November 19th. Chavez confirms that he might face the winner of the upcoming rematch between Miguel Cotto and Antonio Margarito, but that wouldn't happen until at least May.

Anyone else notice that since Hershman's hiring (and probably moreso because of Greenburg's firing), Haymon fighters are migrating to Showtime while Top Rank fighters are scrambling to fill up the slots at the beginning of the year at HBO?

I mean Chavez just fought last week and he's already thinking of coming back in Jan or Feb. Donaire is doing the same against Vazquez. Rios, who's been on show, is looking at HBO in Jan too, as well as being on the Cotto-Margs II card.

            Just a small observation.

Berto & Williams, both scheduled to fight on Showtime early next year.
