As I already stated I would love to see that match up even though haters will scream that Martinez was a 187 years old...

However, Martinez wouldn't bring the money that Alvarez would. Does that make it right? Hell no... but both are bigger, both are Champions, but one easily brings in more money due to the fan base.

But IMO, if not Pac, it should be Martinez. I just wanted to see Mayweather fight Pac at WW first and then see Floyd move up to fight Martinez at JMW.

I agree a Mayweather/Alvarez fight in May 5 would bring big money but a fight with Martinez would be more competitive.

Canelo is still seasoning and not ready for Mayweather JR, that can be a great fight in 1-2 years.

Morales is past his prime i feel and has no energy to beat the best defensive fighter in his prime.

I'm kind of stuck in the middle when it comes to Khan vs Mayweather. If Mayweather KO's Khan, I can hear people now saying how Prescott has been there done that. I can even see some people referencing the Maidana vs Khan fight to show how vulerable khan is. Khan is a good fighter, don't get me wrong. It's just too many holes for critisizm.

The same applies to Guerrero and Martinez, just on a bigger basis.

Heck, even if Mayweather beats Martinez, I can see people saying Williams has been there done that. Really it's a lose lose for Floyd.

At the end of the day, I wouldn't mind seeing Alvarez, Khan, Martinez, Marg-Cotto winner, or maybe Kirkland.

People will try to find a reason to discredit the win anyway, so why not pick an undefeated fighter like Alvarez anyway.

I mean let's face it. I'll pay to watch replay's of Mayweather vs Alvarez before I pay $5 to see JCC jr vs Old La Hoya.

At the end of the day, no matter who Floyd fights it will be bashed. That's just how it is...

- Pac: too small and washed up
- Martinez: old and looked like ****
- Khan: JWW and too small, didn't beat him at his "best weight"
- Alvarez: too green, too slow too this and too that

mayweather making comments like "Im the A side", and "I make the offers" is the reason pac fight won't happen. . . mayweather thinks too highly of his ability to sell. . . he will want to be the "A-side" in the promotion for everything and won't negotiate on anything. . .

Floyd fighting either Canelo or Morales next for May 5th is straight garbage. I have no doubt in my mind that GBP would love and actually pushing for one of these fights to materialize. Especially the Morales fight.

However, there's no indication that Floyd will fight them. Just because GBP want to push these fights. Doesn't mean these are the fights that Floyd wants or will take. Floyd does whatever the hell Floyd wants to do. No one tells him what to do.

So saying that I doubt either fight happens. We will see Floyd take another long hiatus before either of these fights happen.

I do find it hilarious though how some fans are willing to give Floyd a pass if one of these fights go down.

why fight alvarez, but not martinez? both fights would be @154 .. most likely at least. this is ridiculous. and if floyd beat martinez , it would be an excellent win, no matter what haters say.

If any big fights happen at 154, then Martinez should be involved.

I dont think Mayweather should be required, or expected, to fight Martinez, because Floyd he is a welterweight, and he has made no claims at 154 other than a money-grab with Hoya...... but if he wants a fight at 154, then Sergio is the man he should be looking at.

You're saying this like there's so many fights out there for Mayweather where he won't be discredited in the end.

FYI, the #1 P4P fighter tends to make his opponents look like they're in an exhibition match. Mayweather tends to have this effect on people, yes.
