As shameful as it is I understand why Martinez is doing this but if he really wanted to be taken seriously by Pac/May then he should drop to 154, keep busy and try to clean out the division.

Fighting twice a year in front of 2k people won't get him any big fights. Dibella just doesn't know how to promote someone this good who also doesn't have the ethnic following in the US.

Sergio and his promoter need to give it up. The only reson May went up was to fight goldie, period. Pac went up just for the 8 division champ bragging rights, period. Pac and May are not going to risk their health for the small reward of fighting Martinez no matter how often Sergio shouts their names. There is no historical or financial gain to be made by Pac or May in a Martinez fight. All risk no reward means no fight.

Pound-for-pound, Pacquiao beats Martinez black and blue... as it is, the middleweight world champion shouldn't be calling out a guy who 3 years ago was a freakin lightweight. The size difference is enormous. It makes Martinez looks bad. It makes him look terrible, actually. Especially when he categorically rules out (or his team does) moving up to 168 to fight the talent there. He'd rather call out Mayweather (started pro career as a super-featherweight) or Pacquiao (started career as light flyweight). Truly pathetic.

Who in the past 2 to 3 years have faced tougher comp other than martinez?? He deserves that money fight. Its no 1 in the div that will make him big loot and get his name bigger in the us. So go get that money sergio!!!

yeah he needs to let it go and fight the top 160 lbers or 154 lbers if he really wants to move down there. he's pretty much screwed with paydays though. chavez isn't fighting him cause arum won't let him, and if margarito wins against cotto, arum wants to make chavez/margarito so there goes his opportunity. he's got macklin lined up, i say afterwards he fights rubio, sturm, or pirog. mayweather and pacquiao don't even want to fight each other, i think it's crazy to think they'll fight a bigger guy who is thought to be one of the best p4p. he just needs to continue fighting top opposition around his weight (154-160) and leave it at that. one thing i suggest though is he fight somewhere like cali where fights fans will come out and see him.
