  • If Margarito fight against Cotto like he fought against Pac...

....will that be enough to beat Miguel? Or does Margarito have to step his game up more?

marg was able to get to pac at times. even with pac's fast feet.

marg was able to hurt pac at times. something cotto couldn't do.

if the marg that fought pac shows up...... cotto is in trouble.

    simple as.

it's hard to say because of the style differences. Cotto will be able to be hit a lot more than Pac was I reckon. Plus I don't think Cotto hurts Margarito early in the fight like Pac did (was it the second round that body shot that really stunned him??).

        most importantly..... stamina.

will cotto have the stamina to face marg for 12 full rounds.

pac got tired and worn down a bit fighting marg.

cotto doesn't have that level of stamina.

Yea that version of Margarito was actually really good. If that Tony shows up Cotto can be in trouble....

But we also must remember that prime for prime Cotto was very much in the fight. Even if that version shows up if Cotto makes the right tactical adjustments he can definitely win.

But it will be VERY difficult for him.

right, so it's going to be tough for Cotto no doubt. He better hope that eye falls out at some point

I think we should forget about that first fight. Neither Cotto or Margarito are the same fighters they were in 2008.

With that said, Cotto has gone on to win descent matches in his career.

Whereas Margarito hasn't been the same since.

I've seen Margarito fight 3 times under a microscope. I wasn't impressed in any of the 3 bouts.

Anything is possible in boxing, but I give this fight to Cotto with a few possible scary spots.

The two guys to beat Margarito since 2008 both had far greater hand speed than Cotto does. Each guy has deteriorated since the last time they fought but Cotto has lost something that Margs has not, which is heart. Cotto almost always backs off from his opponents when the going gets tough in fights while Margarito never does no matter how scary it gets in there. Cotto doesn't have the handspeed, footspeed, stamina, or the heart to give Margarito any trouble. The only thing that Cotto has over Margarito is his boxing skill. Too bad that won't be enough.
