I would have to say no.

Margo's foot speed has reduced from the original fight.

His upper body movement was gone.

The only thing I saw that resembled the first fight was his jab looked the same.

    Cotto's handspeed has been reduced.

But other then that he looks fairly the same.

So I think Cotto has a great shot at beating Margo if he uses his jab and controls the tempo of the fight.

Marg is going to be slower IMO if he gets his orbital broken again and gets swolled up the fight will get stopped!
Cotto needs to and should target that eye early @ often.

Here is how I look at it

      Handspeed: Pac > Cotto; Cotto '08/'11 > Mosley '09/Now

Footwork: Pac =/= Cotto; Cotto > Mosley

Punching Power: Pac =/= Cotto; Mosley > Cotto

Boxing Ability: Cotto > Pac, Mosley

The key to the fight will be footwork. Pacquaio turned Margarito all night and just peppered him with shots until he almost murdered him. You can tell that this training camp they are working on turning Margarito instead of going back in a straight line, which benefited Margarito. Mosley and Cotto fight nothing alike, so I expect minimal clinching, but Cotto can emulate Pac's game plan and just turn him. I also hope to see a lot of double and triple jabs going up top and down below. Cotto has to work that body, where Margarito is vulnerable. His chin is uncrackable, but he can make those abs jelly.

It'll be a good fight, too bad I'll be at MSG raging like a lunatic to even comprehend whats going on

The thing is that game plan requires a lot of stamina and energy. Pac has crazy stamina, Cotto doesn't and from what I'm seeing from his training clips although the intensity has gone up slightly it still looks like he does it half assed like he usually does. you know what I mean?

Cotto needs to be in the best shape of his life to beat Tony. If he is then I favor him to outbox Tony.

Interesting analysis. I will note that Pacquiao's movement and quickness of foot is much better than Cotto's, so maybe that's why Margacheato didn't look so good.

To me Cotto just seems shot since the Pac fight (and even before, after the Marg fight.) But maybe this new Cuban trainer can revive him a litte.

We'll just have to see how it plays out.

This fight will be a war of will and everybody knows, Margarito's will > Cotto's will any day of the week. Cotto gave up against Pac after round 5 and started running, Margs got busted up early against Pac but kept coming. Cotto's going to have no answer to the Margs pressure and the only way Cotto wins is if they ref stops it coz of Margs eye problems.
