But because Marquez wasn't able to grab that title in Indonesia, no one else is going to go over there and risk it. If you want his belt, you're either going to have to fight him there, or pay him crazy money to put his title up in your backyard.

I used to get mad about foreign fighters doing this, but American and British fighters do it consistently, so whatever. If fighters want to complain about him still being champ, sign up and go take his title off him in Jakarata. Otherwise, I don't mind him doing his thing.
no one is going there because he doesn't pay them any money and they have no chance at winning unless they knock him out. if you are dangerous john will just fight not to get knocked out like he did against marquez and walk away with a wide decision that he didn't deserve. he's unbeatable and that's why he's da greatest of all time.

I might be wrong but isnt John trained by an Aussie trainer ? if so maybe thats why they looking at Dib .

I disagree. European fighters for example can make millions fighting at home to much bigger crowds in bigger events. HBO money is probably the best there is, but that doesn't mean **** if the fighter is just getting something like 300k one time to come over here and put his title on the line in hostile territory. Meanwhile his opponent is making double that on the regular to fight at home, even if he isn't a draw.

Look at the way foreign fighters get done when they come over here... Funeka, Kotelnik, Lara, Matthyse. Why do you think Senchenko wanted 500k minimum to come fight Saul Alvarez? He knew he wasn't going to get a fair shake over here, so he knew he had better get paid if he did.

Well team John could atleast try to have the fight held in Johns back yard. If he gets 500k per fight usually and he wouldnt even get that in australia then i dont see why he would fight there. John has been a champion for far longer then dib and has a better resume so John should get some pull. atleast this way he'd probable get his usual payday

This is what happens when a freaking journalist don't know how to write. It confuses the mind of the people reading the damn article.

To what I understand barely is that Chris John is demanding 700K to face Billy Dib. So, Team Dib said, "hell no, we ain't paying you (Chris John) 700K to face us."

Writers learn to write. You can't criticize us we ain't the writers. We are the damn readers. It is the duty of the writer to make a presentable, understandable, and readable article - not us readers.

John is the most disgraceful "champion" in boxing actually ducking the Dibster and will probably fight yet another bum at home.

he could have made that much if he stayed with top rank and fought delahoya first and then fought them but instead of doing that he demanded 20 million dollars to fight delahoya then suddenly changed his tune after leaving top rank and accepted 10 million. how strange that he changed his demands that he just had......i wonder why he did that......now he's not under contract to fight cotto and margarito and he's free to select his own opponents and what a coincidence.....he never selected cotto or margarito even when they would have made him much more than he originally demanded.

So yeah, Dib would need to pay 700k to John for an unification bout. No wonder the protected boy has so many succesful defenses... always pulling shiet against the other champs that want to unify with him.
Lmao just reread the title, i got it now.

I don't think that John is demanding "crazy money" by asking for $700,000 when his normal local purse is $500,000. I think it's actually moderate. John is comfortable at home, and it would be a big displacement for him to travel to the States and train there, where he is completely out of his element. He's been champion for about 8 years and deserves respect.

AND...he has an unbeaten record, which would be a big feather in Dib's hat if he could win.
However Dib's management not only turned down the $700,000 by even the normal $500,000 purse, so there's no point in any more consideration of this fight.

none of these fighters deserve 700k. Chris John fought a life and death bout against a shot Rocky Juarez and was badly hurt at times and Billy is really boring.
Chris manager is talking like Chris is an attraction in the US and Billy is not..well guess what..none of them is an attraction and I couldn't care less for anyone..
