I understand what he's saying, but it does not look good on his part. He shouldn't get any flak for feeling this way.....

but this is not a perfect world. The **** just hit the fan! I wonder what Bob will do if the fight can't be made in NY!

I believe they will approve Margarito, so it won't matter... Anyways I don't see Cotto winning this fight. Cotto just seems to be past prime, I was not really impressed with his performances. Margarito on the other hand seems to be the same fighter as always, the guys biggest gift is that he can take a lot of punishment and recover from it, it is incredible...

Based on what? His win over Cotto 4 years ago?

I don't agree with the stance Cotto is taking, but I respect it because he's standing up to Bob Arum. I hate when fighters think they have to be puppets for their promoters.

                What's your point?

MARGARITO OWES ARUM HIS LIFE AFTER WHAT HAPPENED and your talking abt cotto following company rules, double standard.

He could be, but I don't think so. If it was someone else, then yes, but Cotto conducts himself with pride and he would look like an arse if Bob talks him around after publicly blowing up any additional plans he had.

If they fight, Tony has all the advantages now. Cotto is mentally somewhere else i think, the face off showed he doesn't have the same desire he once did and he's facing the man that took him apart and that will also be on his mind, wraps or not.

I hope to god this fight gets the all clear later today.

The Racket Squad: The Depths of Denial

Cotto is fortunate to get this payday regardless of it's location.
Margarito received it for breaking the most sacred rule in all of prizefighting.
                      Therefore Miguel inherits the windfall.
It's a has-been, circus attraction wherein one guy is over the hill and the other is just over. Pac performed career ending surgery on the man.
This fight preys on the Puerto Rican vs. Mexico rivalry (racism could easily be injected for 'rivalry) just as joyously as Cooney /Holmes stalked the black vs. white depths of racial sewage.
                      Tony has a damaged headlight.
Cotto wants the hometown advantage in addition to this fact.
The Garden will probably allow the show to go on based on a fiscal, not fistic lack of integrity. It's a shame.
If Cotto will not go to Texas should the N.Y commision deny Antonio's license,
everyone wins. The biggest winners are the fans being asked to pay HBO for the priviledge of watching a grudge match between a pugilist who once had some great stuff in him and a lying cheater who could have killed men in the ring.
                      It's your call.
For my money, this 'contest' is as silly as any Arum concoction can get.
It bleeds the fistic world and it's fans.
