Due to the circumstances and su****ions of the last fight, Cotto calls the shots here. And I agree with him. If the NYSAC sees an underlying issue with Margarito's eye, then Tony shouldn't be fighting at all.

There is something called principals. Cotto has never liked the fact that Arum supported Margarito blindly over the scandal. That put a strain on the relationship to begin with.

Then Arum finally got Cotto to take the fight when he offered him a good guarantee and the fight in NYC....now cause Top Rank did not do their due dilligence Cotto is about to get fcuked again and the fight is gonna move back west?

Cotto is the one in the driver seat, he can ask for whatever he wants. He can fight anyone and make a few millions while Margarito can only earn pennies against the other guys.

He already relinquished in the weight issue, 154 is not his weight(and NO, I DON'T CONSIDER HIM A LEGIT super welterweight champion). They are fighting on Margarito's natural weight, advantage to Tony.

Why would he give up his "home field" advantage also? Margarito has more to prove than him, most fans don't view Margarito's W over Cotto as legit and I doubt Cotto either. So while he'd like to pummel Margarito I doubt he feels like he has to get revenge when in his mind he didn't really lose but instead was cheated against.

I have new found respect for Cotto after that statement. It would be the easy way out to pounce on an injured opponent for revenge. If something is wrong with Margaritto's eye, Cotto should have mercy even if Cheatto is dumb enough to want to risk his eye sight over a fight. It takes real character to do the right thing even when the wrong thing seems easier.

Its his JOB. he willing signed up for this. and you can see this and that, that he signed up for NYC etc etc which is cool but he talked big and bad saying he will fight Margarito Anywhere, now he wont, He said before he didnt think Margarito cheated etc but now He knows Margarito cheated. Cotto doesnt seem like a man of his word.
