Everyone was caught off guard but I knew Pac has troubles with pure boxers because he is all over the place and wide open. Before I thought Pac could be overwhelmed by size and strength but was wrong because he is too fast for pressure fighters. Patience and counter punching beats Pac..... Been saying it.

Wow, it's really heated in this thread.

I click on the last page and all I see is a bunch of racial name calling going on.

Geez, all this because JCC said Marquez broke the Pac myth?

Marquez lost a close 12-round majority decision, but was viewed as the winner by Chavez Sr. because he broke the myth of Pacquiao being an invincible fighter. Chavez Sr., unlike other fighters, is not impressed with Pacquiao's recent victories.

"Marquez showed that he is better than Pacquiao. [Pacquiao] is not invincible. He's not what you think he is,” said Chavez, who was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame earlier this year. “He caught De La Hoya when he was finished. He had a good fight against Margarito, but he's slow. And Mosley was finished." [Click Here To Read More]

The closed he got tagged Pac was on 5th round but not enough of winning the 12 rounds of course, and much more far from a move of unlocking Pac Myth!
When fighting an opponent like Pacquiao you have to come in with the correct gameplan, one that will take your opponent's strengths and turn it into his weakness. Pacquiao struggles with smart/slick counter-punchers, he knows this, Freddy Roach knows this, everyone knows this and quite obviously so does Marquez. So why would Marquez change his strategy and thereby giving himself an even bigger mountain to climb, all just to convince the likes of you that he'd won!

You also need to bear in mind that the VAST MAJORITY of professional fighters out there (and yes, a lot of them weren't even Mexican!), believed that MARQUEZ WON! When there are SO MANY people who believe a robbery has just taken place, that perhaps can be just put down to fanatical bias on the behalf of the fans, but when SO MANY of those people are actual boxing pro's, what can that lead you to believe?

Great call Grust, props for sticking to your guns,I started to beleive the hype and didnt give Juan much of a chance based on the tough fights he had with diaz and katsidis and mayweather,I didnt think Juan would win but I did beleive hed be a factor in the fight.I really never believed in pacs "improvement"he fights just as he did in 2008 and by then he improved all that he was going to.He didnt' improve' the quality of opposition decreased is what happened ,a phoney promotors trick everyone fell for. Hindsight is 20/20 Jmm fighting much faster technically better fighters at litweight and even Floyd kept his timing and game very well prepared for Pac whos been facing non technical slow plodding "bums" for lack of a better word. All the guys that pac fought at welter at one point were good maybe even great fighters at one time ,but certainley not at the time or by the time pac fought them,I always pointed that out but was assailed for it,now folks that said it all along were proven correct, thats whats sweet about boxing its a sport where the truth is exposed sooner or later...Jmm mustve been obsessed and really studied pacs every move, because he read pac like a book,to me pac really wasnt even in the fight he had maybe 3 good rounds and even those werent all that.
