How about Aaron Pryor and Alexis Arguello?

You think they could have beaten Mayweather?

I have a special spot for these two fighters especially the 135 - 147 lbs weight boundaries.

Those would be crazy wars. I could see them pulling wins. Hawk especially.

And no-one has mentioned Ray Robinson yet? For shame

He's my favourite current fighter, but come on. 135-147 is stacked.

At 135 Pernell and Duran could decision him.

147 I'm thinking Hearns and Leonard.

There aren't many who could beat Mayweather period, and even fewer that could do it convincingly, but they do exist.

I see Hawk winning due to activity and he was a very active long and short range fighter. Very accurate and not as jumpy as Pacquiao.

I think Arguello is slow compared to Mayweather but Arguello is arguably the stronger guy and good boxer too. Also, when Arguello losses he was knocked out and rarely by decision.

just from this era I would have loved to have seen:

            prime Mosley at 140 -
Vernon Forrest with no shoulder problems at 147
            prime Oscar at 147

I'm not saying they all beat him, but these guys bring a totally different element to the fight when they were in their primes. Floyd beat Oscar by split decision, maybe a 2 point difference on the official cards - and he was nowhere near his prime.

Shane had Floyd HURT bad with a couple right hand he knew he had to look for, even from a much older Mosley. When he was in his prime at LW, Shane having Floyd hurt like that early in the fight would have been trouble.

WELL MOESLY WOULD HAVE GOTTEN THE SAME ASS WHIPPING!
DELA HOYA WOULD HAVE GOTTEN STOPPED AT 147!
VERNON WOULD HAVE CRACKED UBDER PRESSURE. HE HAD TO BE IN CONTROLL OR ELSE IT WASNT HIS NIGHT.

Mayweather is by far the better fighter . EASY work after roung 5 with either of these guys!

I watched both of these guys get beat, by fighters that were no where near Mayweathers skill level. They were good but they lost to averge guys.

I watched ray robinson get out boxed too. His flaw was that he could be lured into a slug match, doing this made him easy to be hit and hurt. It also showed his focus was not as strong as Mayweathers. You will never see Mayweather lured into a slug match, he is to smart and to focus on his game plan! The only chance I give these guys with power is a punchers chance. I know you all disagree but just look at every guy mentioned , evaluate thier lost and how they lost, who they lost too and then compare them to Mayweather. No COMP!!!!

Just admit you dropped a brick when Shane had Floyd leaning in that round
