this isn't about wrestler vs boxer.

street fighting is about aggression. that is why i said Tyson and Tua would rule the streets.

DEFENSIVE BOXING IS USELESS IN THE STREETS.

Especially if the other guy shirt grabs.

Shoulder rolls. Dipping and diving. ALI Style straight running. DOES NOT WORK IN THE STREETS if you got a shirt on.
street fight vs boxing are two different things yes. and new elements are introduced in a street fight that you necessarily wouldn't have to worry about vs in a boxing match. but that doesn't at all negate the benefits of knowing how to defend in a combat situation. i mean if you a fight guy (with a shirt on) that know's how to box, and knows how to stop a take down, what do you do then? i mean technically speaking, you have to come within distance to grab him right. now i'm not saying you're fighting a pernell whittaker who would try to matrix all of your punches but i'm saying someone who knows how to properly utilize and take advantage of opportunities. Good defense isn't just the idea of "not attacking." It's also about recognizing opportunities when to strike. You can't just dismiss that.

Just from boxing you have advantages that the average roided up steroid Joe "bro" doesn't. You'll know how to throw a nice punch and how to move with better footwork so that you won't be all off balance and you'll be thinking about things that the average person won't see in a fist fight.

BTW pitty pat jabs you see "defensive" boxers throw that look like glancing blows when they land in a boxing ring, knock people out in the real world.

now that MMA is more popular because it is that much closer to real life combat than boxing.

When you have defensive people who shoulder roll and get on their backfoot pedalling......... that **** just will NOT WORK in real life.

First of all, you got clothes on. Unless you're fighting on daytona beach. I got into it last night in Memphis Tennesee(visiting a hospital client). This dude was dipping and diving right off the bat like sweatpea. I throw one punch he dips back and I run up grab his shirt before he can swerve again. Dude looked mind****ed, he got held in place for me to unload a plethora of knuckle sandwiches.

Within 15 seconds, sweatpea wannabe is twitching on the ground cerebral palsy style.

LOL @ defensive boxing on the street. that is all.
              dude your a prick.

Why is it that only pacfarts make threads talking about getting into streetfights and crap? They're all like 5'5"...they're not knocking anybody out lol.

I've been in plenty of bar brawls and used to train at an internationally known gym, you don't see me on here talking about getting into fights.
