Since I (and most people) believe that Juan Manual Marquez got the better of Manny Pacquiao I don't think it's fair that Marquez should be rated below Pacman on pound for pound lists. So really it should be between JMM and Money Mayweather for the number 1 spot.
After knocking out Ricky Hatton Floyd Mayweather Jr. has retired and made comebacks a couple of times. What JMM has achieved since 2008 is clearly greater than what the part-time boxer Pretty Boy has done in the same time. Especially when you consider Marquez SHOULD have one at least 1, possibly both of his bouts with Pacquiao during that time period.
For me the only reason why Mayweather could possibly be ranked ahead of Marquez is that when they met Floyd did dish out a dominant defeat to the Mexican warrior. But since this is a pound-for-pound list and they met at a weight at which Mayweather was a lot more comfortable, can this head to head be ignored and can Marquez's greater achievements in recent years mean that he should be ranked as the pound-for pound king?
What do you guys think?
