But he was never knocked down like Sam says he was.
Vitali - KOed in 1 by Oleg Maskaev?

if i remember correctly, this fight was in the middle of vitali preparing for a kickboxing championship fight. his corner told him that if he repeatedly used his right hand, they'd throw in the towel to preserve his hand for the kickboxing fight. i believe this is what we're talking about.Comment

Being that Maskaev was losing, can it be argued that it may have been a lucky punch?Originally posted by ejk22Oleg Maskaev is a skill less scrub. He has no jab, no foot movement. All he has is a heavy punch. Says alot about Rahman doesn't it.Comment

it was a dq win I believeOriginally posted by AnorakJust been reading a Sinan Simal Sam interview here and he reckons that Oleg KOed Big Klit in 1 round when they were both amateurs.
Anyone else heard of this? As for Sam himself, he deserves his shot. He's 24-2 (15 KOs) and has worked hard for his position, rather than being given the opportunity by luck (*cough* Rahman & Golota *cough*). Even if he's crap and gets beat, he earnt that right to be there. Whatever happened to boxers working their way up the rankings anyway?Comment

i ebilve vitali broke his hand agaisnt him in the amatuers after beating him up and they stopped the fight becuase vitali had a kickboxing fight soon that he needed to go to, vitlai has been knocked down in kickboxing and i beilve KO'd by pele reid in kickboxing as well, but no oleg did not KO nor drop vitali at all, was a tko win thoughComment

No it was not because take a look at the fight again. Maskaev had Rahman hurt prior to the punch that sent him through the ropes. It was not from just one punch, Rahman was on wobbly legs.Originally posted by DerrangedBeing that Maskaev was losing, can it be argued that it may have been a lucky punch?Comment

No dumbass his corner stopped the fight, he had a big kickboxing tournament coming up in France. And when he was fighting Maskaev he had a damaged left hand, and his corner said if u use your left hand too much we will stop the fight. Thus Vitali used his left hand too much and the corner stopped the fight. Vitali also got very angry at them for doing it.Originally posted by DiegoFuegoIt was a TKO. Vitali quit after the 1st round after hurting his arm. Just another reason people call him a quitter.
Learn the details before you post nonsense.
Just look how pathetic each one of you are, trying to bring up stuff that happened in 1990-91 when Vitali was no more than 18 or 19.Comment
