Oscar still mad at Floyd for the 'take two of these and call me in the morning.' incident.
How is Floyd going to get elevated over Pac, when Floyd only fought 4 rounds in 18 months that ended in controversy against a green opponent?
Pac have been more active and actually got a close decision win over a career rival (JMM) that happens to be P4P#5 this late in his career.Comment

Floyd comes out of retirement, suckerpunches Victor Ortiz (not even on the P4P list) after having fought a closer than expected fight, and he's already a qualificant for the #1 P4P spot? RING is partially owned by Oscar, and even they are not ****** enough to have Floyd on the #1 spot.Comment

And Pacman only beat 1 champion above 140 & it was at a catchweight, what's your point?Floyd comes out of retirement, suckerpunches Victor Ortiz (not even on the P4P list) after having fought a closer than expected fight, and he's already a qualificant for the #1 P4P spot? RING is partially owned by Oscar, and even they are not ****** enough to have Floyd on the #1 spot.Comment

No you didn't, you underrated JMM severely instead...
And BTW, JMM already exposed Manny backed in 2004.
Now find another boxer that can execute the blueprint.
If you say Floyd Mayweather, then Manny isn't a bum after all if it takes the supposedly best undefeated boxer to beat him.Comment

The fact that you are putting Froch over Ward shows how delusional you are, let alone saying Floyd lost 3 of 4 rounds against Ortiz. The closest that Victor came to out landing Floyd was round 1 and 2, where Floyd out landed him 9-5 and 13-8 in power punches still.
I am not like these other Pac haters who say Marquez definitely won. I score dthe first fight a draw 113-113, the 2nd 114-113 Marquez, and the 3rd 114-114.
Could have gone either way all 3 times.
But seriously, you sound moronic to everyone, including other delusional Pac lovers (Pac lovers are not Pac fans, there's a difference) when saying Floyd lost 3 of 4 to Ortiz.
Everyone was under estimating JMM, including myself. But, Ortiz was a solid pick. 24 years old, in your physical prime, all-time high on confidence, coming off 5 wins (one over previously unbeaten Berto) and a draw he should have won over highly rated Peterson, Ortiz was not too-green to fight Floyd.
I hate when people say that fights at age 22-24 are too green. Ali beat Liston at 22, Floyd won his first title over G. Hernandez at 21, and many other cases where young fighters show their greatness early. Alvarez at 21, 22 next year, really needs to step up next year in terms of competition, same with Chavez Jr, Brook, and others.
Ortiz was not a toog reen opponent. Ortiz is in his early prime.
You could make the case either way for Pac or Floyd being #1, though it is interesting to see ESPN and SI rank Floyd #1 again. People do seem to forget that Floyd never actually lost #1 P4P, and that Pac never really took it from anyone.Comment

Great post. One point of disagreement, though. You could make that argument for Hatton, but De La Hoya? Not so much. Here is RING's explanation for all you illogical fanboys:
Pacquiao wasn’t fighting a chump. Marquez is the No. 5 fighter in the world pound for pound. And Pacquiao beat him, at least officially.
A great fighter shouldn’t necessarily be demoted because another great fighter has his number. We didn’t think less of Muhammad Ali because he had trouble with Ken Norton three times. The same with Willie Pep and Sandy Saddler in their series.
A fighter shouldn’t necessarily be demoted because he has an off night, if that’s what it was on Saturday. Sergio Martinez didn’t look great against Darren Barker but no one clamored for him to be demoted.
Pacquiao has accomplished more than Mayweather in recent years. The Filipino is 9-0 against big-name opponents since the beginning of 2008; Mayweather is 3-0 in that time.
Mayweather isn’t exactly coming off a sterling performance. He looked good against Victor Ortiz for three-plus rounds but scored a knockout when Ortiz wasn’t looking.
And you can’t say that Mayweather should supplant Pacquiao because he defeated Marquez more easily. That doesn’t take into account styles and strengths. Plus, Pacquiao beat Ricky Hatton and Oscar De La Hoya more easily than Mayweather did.Comment

lol....
ok, lets play your game..maybe becuase floyd has only outperformed pac once vs common opponets...
hoya = floyd got away with split decison....pac tkod him in 8
hatton = floyd stopped him in ten...pac put him to sleep in 2
shane = floyd won 10 rounds to 2, almost got ktfo,... pac won all twelve rounds, put shane on his ass, made him begging for a stoppage....
so it's 3-1 pac, right now!
Yet all were softened up by Mayweather first!!!
Head blows, age, wear and tear and weight making (in two of the three fights above) may well have been the reason for Pacquiao's more dominant performances.Comment

Poor comparison. Because in every one of their mutual fights Floyd outlanded his opponents by 100 punches or more something PAc has absolutely never done against Marquez. Try again.Comment
