Comments Thread For: Marquez Will Only Stay For Pacquiao, Reveals His Terms

Juan Manuel Marquez (53-6-1, 39KOs) will only stick around for a fourth showdown with Manny Pacquiao (54-3-2, 38KOs). The Mexican champion is considering the possibility of retirement and plans to make a final decision within 20 days to a month. If he decides to continue his career, Pacquiao is the only fight he wants or else he'll retire from boxing. Last Saturday night at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Pacquiao retained his WBO welterweight title with a controversial twelve round majority decision over Marquez.

His demands are very reasonable if he got rid of that one demand trying to make the 3rd fight an NC, and it sounds like he doesn't want that demand anymore. I'd be interest in a 4rth match, actually intrigues me more than Manny/Floyd at this point.

If the fight happens before Manny/Floyd, I think winner of Manny/Marquez should fight Mayweather Jr. So that means if Marquez wins 4rth fight, I think he should have a rematch against Mayweather Jr.

This is just my opinion on what should happen.

That really sucks. If this was really Marquez's last fight that would be sad. I would miss perfection in the ring.

I agree with Marquez. There's no use going back to Lightweight to defend his throne. I'd like to see Marquez/Morales. That sounded horrible until I saw Morales's last two performances. Add a 140lb title to the collection.

Marquez doesn't deserve ****, he said it was going to be a war. I'm not going to run like Mosley, I'm going for the KO and not leaving it at the hands of the judges.
