Gamboa will have trouble against a streetfighter like Rios and it starts now with the street talk.
Conventional boxers always had problems with the unpredictable style of street fighters.
But Rios might not be enough to beat Gamboa.
    The match is good.

Gamboa won't want to fight Rios after Rios gets beaten by Murray.

Gamboa at 126 slows down BIG time in rounds 7-12... It was proven in every fight he's gone the distance in and the most obvious was against Salido when he clinched and arm punched the majority of the later rounds showing sure signs of fatigue. The dude isn't exact a front runner, but he doesn't have that great a cardio either.

Coupled with the fact that his chin isn't the greatest, he's undersized, and would be moving up 10lbs and probably be outweighed by 15-20lbs on fight night (Rios hydrates as high as 155.. I dont think gamboa will weigh anymore than 140 on fight night if even that considering Anthony Peterson, who is a lot bigger than Gamboa, hydrated to 138 against Bam Bams 151. )

There's no way gamboa wins this fight or even gets close.
Then to prove you wrong he KO salido in the 12th round, watch the guy again he hasn't fade in any of his fights he is like the energizer bunny, he will give Rios a boxing class, I c this fight like the one against Ponce...

no way gamboa hits harder than acosta ....acosta landed bombs on rios and rios kept coming, gamboa is fast but so what,he might win the first couple of rounds but in those rounds rios would be landing blows that by the 5th 6th round will start taking effect on gamboa and will start wearing down until rios stops him in the 9th or 10th rounds..if gamboa called him out, well rios has accepted, lets see if he really meant it

TOO big of a risk, and it's not a necessary risk either..

It's not like he's moving up to fight a De La Hoya where he's gonna get a 20 million dollar payday to risk getting SMOKED...

He doesn't need to skip two weight classes to fight Rios... it's not a smart decision.

I'm not saying beating Rios wouldn't be big, but the deck is stacked against him in this fight. He needs to move to 130, get a few wins there, even a title.. even the Juanma matchup.. adjust to the weight, and then move to 135 if he feels he should, and take a light touch there to adjust to the weight.

You don't skip two weight classes against a guy in comparison is a monster unless you're getting Floyd/Pac type money... then go ahead.

Yup, I think Top Rank is under the impression that Gamboa would win.

It's not like he isn't talented enough I just think Rios would walk right through him, he's a massive LW.

But it's a massive miscalculation by Top Rank. Gamboa can get big pay days and headline WCB's very soon without going to 135. And Rios will be able to do the same at 135-140. He would be hurting the marketability of one of his top guys in the lower weight divisions and he'd be going REALLY out of his way to do it.

He's already headling BAD cards... he already has the smart income, getting exposed to HBO audiences and building his name...

Gamboa is a massive talent... if he doesnt get knocked out he could definitely outpoint Rios... but damn, the risk is ridiculously huge... If Rios touches him, I dont know how he's going to deal with it..

                      And all for what?
