Goosen has been with James Toney when no one else wanted him and the last thing he should have to do is sign over his rights to Don King.
    Thats true...

So if we want to wait a year at the minimum and probably 2 years before we see real compelling HW matchups then the tourney should be great.

Brewster is the only guy that I really want to see of the bunch right now, maybe Rock a little bit...waiting on guys like Byrd and Ruiz is a waste and Toney will suffer!

Toney has been co promoted by King, who surely would recognize his marketability.

The alternative if Vitali keeps the title and decided to sit on it to spite King would be just as bleek.

Say what you will about King, he puts on good events, and if he markets this right, it could be the best thing that's happened in the division in quite some time.

I have a tough time trusting King...especially when he would be in control of 1 fighter with all four belts...it is different than having John Ruiz fighting a mandatory that wasnt owned by King...a guy like Ruiz was only something as long as he held a belt...the Toney Ruiz fight would be different then a Toney vs. Don's supreme champion.

In your opinion what would be the soonest that James Toney gets a crack at the title?

Your probably right about VK...the guy is not active enough and chances are he would have fought a bum hoping in the meantime his brother could pick up a title as well and they could both show off there belts at a family christmas party.

When does James get his shot? Probably not for a long time.

I have a bit more optimism that he'll be involved, but we'll have to wait and see.

It would be a good move for King to have Toney in, because he brings more excitment and money than Byrd Ruiz or Rahman.

If not, and he's not included, I'd be very disapointed.

I think we are both going to be disapointed...I cant imagine Don leaving out 1 of his beltholders for Toney.

You're assuming its just going to be two fights leading into one.

Nothing's saying he can't fit in other Heavyweights on the card, getting mandatories out of the way.

Would you be shocked to see Golota fighting Byrd or Ruiz in a rematch as part of the deal?

Don King might let Toney in, I think it depends on how good James does in his upcoming fights. James in marketable...

Maybe Im wrong but I would be surprised if we didnt have a final four type tourney with Brewster, Byrd, Ruiz and Rock.

I hope I am wrong but if im right Toney and any other deserving HW out there has a while to wait.

Belts aside...Byrd and Ruiz are dog**** and they are just getting in the way.

Hey, just think, now we might have a real heavyweight champion. Who cares if he sucks compared to other unified champs of the past, at least we would have one instead of this ******ed alphabet soup four champion division where stuck with. Personally, I'm glad that the WBC stripped Vitali of his belt, he bowed out of four fights against Rahman claiming injuries each time. I don't know if he's lying or not but you can't have a champion that doesn't fight. The only thing that sucks about this is now King controls all the belts.

let's put it this way would you rather be forced to call ONE bum champ or FOUR bums champ?

Moreover the chance of ruiz not being a champ increase if there is a tournament

anyway I will keep on not caring about heavyweights and live happily everafter. I will just watch toney fight and wait for brock and harrison if they ever blossom
