If JMM is better than Manny, can he beat current Cotto or Margarito?

I think a Marg fight would be easier for JMM than a Cotto fight. Cotto is a much better boxer than Marg, and he too is quite a good counter puncher. The Marg fight would possibly look a little like PAC vs JMM 3 did, in that JMM would be using foot work and countering all night instead of getting lured into a brawl. 9 times out a 10 a good skilled boxer beats a good brawler.Comment

if i wanted to impress the judges id do what id been doing in practice over the past 8 weeks to the best of my abilty and stick to the game plan that works best vs my opponent. i watched the fight 3 times and i saw alot of exchanging by marquez, he circled to his left and waited for openings and mistakes which there was plenty of, he did an amazing job he just didnt get the decision, the fight was closer than the scores but its all good.... i dont get this backpedaling thing, is there a rule or something where a fighter must sit and exchange with a big puncher in order to win a fight? in the last 2 rounds he could have did more yes but that was an action packed fight what more do u want my brother?Comment

Styles make fights.Styles make fights.Style makes fights.Styles make fights.
It all depends on the fight weight.I have them all at 147 if they ever fought.
Margarito would pummel marquez with that pressure.Even at 147 if he could of still made it.He would rehydrate to the max speaking. On top of that I don't think marquez's reach would even reach margarito.
Clottey would PROBABLY get outpointed. He isn't active enough to throw a high volume, would go into nutshell mode, and let the rest drag 12 rounds to snoozer.
I actually like the fight with cotto/marquez.Especially with the way he looked.Cotto has never been outboxed and can sure make 147 comfortable. This is as tachtical as both of them can get.But i'd have to go with cotto.More experience with bigger men through his career so fighting a smaller fighter should not cause him too much trouble. He has the power to make a difference also but I think a W in this fight lies on who brings the better game plan.Comment

Listen little boy, I call it how I see it...
Did JMM not say that he was going for the knockout? Did he not say he didnt want to leave it to the judges this time???
Then when the fight started did he try to engage Pac at all?? Even once??? He ran back because he feared to get knocked out... Thats the truth. And you want to make yourself believe JMM won because he landed a few flush shots and he survived all the while Pac was pressing the action all damn night???
You people are truly killing the sport... Please die.
You can shut your ass now.Comment

Styles make fights people, when will you finally catch on?
JMM just has the perfect style and approach to counter Manny's strengths, but I don't think that'd be the case with the guys you mention. Cotto's jab and body work would be a problem for Marquez. If JMM couldn't keep Katsidis off of him, what do you think the massive Margarito would do? Tony would eat his punches like skittles and smother him. And if Clottey fought smart, that fight would look a lot like Floyd-JMM with Joshua in his shell pot shotting. Plus all those guys would be 160-165 lbs in the ring.
Again, STYLES MAKE FIGHTS. Just because Manny matches up well with those guys and destroyed/dominated them doesn't mean Marquez would. That's not taking anything away from him, just is what it is.Comment

See, thats what you dont get. At some point in a fight, a counterpuncher must change places and attack. Counterpunchers like Mayweather and Jones dont go backwards all night, they always end up attacking...
And thats what JMM did last sat. He never assumed the attack, never took risks, never once planted a flag on the "area of combat",,,,, he was just satisfied with taking what Pac gave him...
Is that what warriors do??? Would JCC do that?
You must be young,,, go learn some boxing and come back.Comment
