If JMM is better than Manny, can he beat current Cotto or Margarito?

Watched it a million times.. Great performance by Marquez. really close fight but manny edged this out no ifs ands or buts.. He took the action to marquez and out pointed marquez.. Just look at jmm face after the fight. People who said Pac missed all night don't know a punch from ****.

Did JMM not say that he was going for the knockout? Did he not say he didnt want to leave it to the judges this time???

Then when the fight started did he try to engage Pac at all?? Even once??? He ran back because he feared to get knocked out... Thats the truth. And you want to make yourself believe JMM won because he landed a few flush shots and he survived all the while Pac was pressing the action all damn night???

You people are truly killing the sport... Please die.
What's killing the sport is ignorant part time fans like you that need to learn the sport of boxing.

Aggression isn't the only thing you need to look at in determining a winner. JMM counter punched beautifully and SCHOOLED Pac. He would have been ****** to come forward and given Pac a chance to KO him.

Everyone who watches any boxing knows Pac has the advantage in just about every physical category between the two. Speed, power, quickness, footwork and possibly endurance. Yet JMM managed to win rounds with his BOXING, his counter punching and intelligence.

This isn't some back street brawl or MMA, this is the sweet science. Willie Pep used to win rounds and throw 1 or 2 punches.

JMM and Nacho implemented a game plan that Roach and Pac had nothing for. JMM should have been ahead on the score cards and understood that he couldn't give Pac even a knock down or he would have no chance in winning this fight.

Listen, I suggest you watch some youtube videos of boxing for about 10 years then come back and talk to grown folks who know something about boxing.

In this case it was aggression vs. counter punching and the aggressor outpointed the counter puncher... The counter puncher was spectacular but did not do enough to win... The counter puncher showed more signs of damage which reflect the stats that the aggressor did out point him, hence winning the game on points.

That would be asking too much of JMM. At this point in his career, I doubt he could gather the motivation to fight any of these guys anyway.

Personally, I think he loses to Cotto and Marg -- not Clottey or Mosley. JMM opens up for the left hook and Cotto would put him down with his. Margo is a tough call but he's too big, strong, and relentless to not pick him against JMM. Clottey is too inactive to win and Mosley will get frustrated when he's getting countered all night unless he lands that one lucky punch.

i think cotto's stiff jab and body work will bother jmm... margs will walk jmm down.... jmm will outclass shane at this point... clottey would be a close tactical match (people sleep on clottey)... i honestly dont even think jmm can beat a drained oscar... and this is not a knock on jmm, its more stylistically speaking.

either way, jmm is a mexican great... and his greatness may be arguably parallel to pac... but pac's accomplishments are pretty solid, and i just dont see jmm doing what pac did.

Hahaha So there where never time where he sat and traded with Pac? Every time he threw a punch he sat on it. Heres a highlight reel since your obviously to lazy to re watch the fight.

The fact that this is a serious thread is just sad. JMM fought Manny three times and for the millionth time styles make fights. Cotto losing to Marquez, WTF? Anyone thinking it would be close is just idiotic, Cotto comes in weighing 160+ and Marquez has been on his ass from LW's. Is Marquez going to throw 70+ punches around and push Cotto back? What "counter-puncher" or "boxer" has Cotto lost too? Then you guys have the nerve to say Clottey is a tougher fight... The guy who has lost to Manny, Marg and Cotto already would be the toughest fight for Marquez? Idiots, plain and simple.

See I have no problem with this analogy but the thought that aggression and ONLY aggression is the way to win is ridiculous. Harold Lederman was off in saying what he said and people need to learn boxing.

I agree with your stance though and have no problem with that even though I asked this question before and I will ask it again.

If the roles were reversed, meaning Manny did what JMM did and vice versa, I still think they give the fight to Manny and even think Manny KO's JMM with those clean shots.

I mean JMM was landing right hand bombs and Manny was taking them like nothing but they were landing.
