you make a good point. marquez and mayweather are COMPLETELY DIFFERENT fighters. . . Marquez does things differently than floyd. . . He had 24 rounds with Manny. . . Floyd has never faced a fighter like Manny. . . Manny, however, does have experience with a countering orthodox fighter. .. But still, it applies to Manny too - he has never faced a fighter like Floyd. . . This is a COMPLETELY NEW MATCHUP that CANNOT be gauged on their performance against a common opponent (marquez). . .
The outcome can definitely be "gauged on their performance against a common opponent". Not definitively, but it can be gauged.
EVERYTHING about Marquez' style that caused Manny problems, will get much worse for him against Mayweather.
The movement and counter-punching that Pac couldnt deal with, is going to get much worse..... the defence that Manny couldnt crack, is going to get much worse..... the accuracy that troubled Manny, is going to get much worse..... and the physicality that gave Pac problems, is going to get much worse, as will the height/reach/speed/power.
All-in with you on that fight ^^
I wanted to clean up Puga or Check_hooks, but you will do ^^Comment

I lost interest in Pac vs Mayweather a long time ago. I guess this puts me in the minority, but I'm okay with a Pac vs Marquez rematch. I don't give a **** about settling scores and deciding who's the best. I just know that Pac vs Marquez always produce good fights and I would like to see another one. Also, as a sergiosexual, this makes Mayweather vs Martinez slightly more likely, which is the fight I want to see.Comment

I need an answer to this question.....
The " they are just ducking Mayweather " excuse, does not cut it for me.
When they dont want to fight Mayweather, they fight a Clottey-type opponent..... so why would they willingly rematch a guy who CLEARLY has Pac's number, instead of another Josh "the punching bag" Clottey?
* What could possibly change, that would enable/allow Pac to perform better in a rematch?
* Why would he take such a risk against a guy who clearly has his number?
* Why not fight another Josh Clottey, and raise your stock because you looked terrific, and then move toward Mayweather?
* Why ?
So, it makes no sense at all for Bob Arum to allow Manny's stock to fall.
* What could possibly change, that would enable/allow Pac to perform better in a rematch?
* Why would he take such a risk against a guy who clearly has his number?
I can only think of two reasons why Arum would allow a rematch.
FACT: They have officially refused to enter into negotiations with Mayweather..... so, they will either.....
a.) fight Marquez
b.) fight somebody else
Reason 1:
IF, Pac has been using enhancements, and IF, he is now preparing for Mayweather, and IF, he was clean for the fight against Marquez, because he thought that JMM was old, faded, and ineffective at welter, like everyone else did..... then is the adjustment that Manny OBVIOUSLY needs to make in order to effect a change in his fortunes, to juice up for the rematch?
No? Then what other change could Pacquiao make that would enable/allow him to perform better in a rematch?
A better camp? Nope, that camp was the best ever according to Roach.
Better sparring partners? Good luck finding someone who will imitate Marquez well enough to condition Pac to his style.
Breakthrough adjustments in style? Come on, get real.
What could possibly change, that would enable/allow Pac to perform better in a rematch if not steroids?
Reason 2:
They will wait until Mayweather has signed an opponent for May 5th, and then they will say that Marquez priced himself out, and then they will go fight a bum.
I favor reason 2, because it seems the most obvious..... and I cant see Pac beating Marquez even if he was on steroids.
I ask you all again, because these two questions truly baffle me.....
