yes and especially when you consider the only fight he's clearly lost was to mayweather. all his other fights were either robberies or super close fights that could have gone his way.

exactly. Marquez never got blown up like barrera and morales did. those boys got straight owned annihilated and KO'd brutally at times, but no one has mastered marquez ever

It baffles me that he was in the shadows during the Barrera/Morales era partly because some of the decisions he made regarding his opponents. He's truly a warrior and amazing to watch, I bet the Mexicans love him now - I'm curious to see how his homecoming is going to turn out - I hope there's going to be a coverage it.

He's above Barrera and Morales imo, his consistency as a top fighter is outstanding and to have the courage to fight Pac at this level is astounding.

            Same here.

I've always held him up there with Salvador Sanchez, Julio Cesar Chavez, and Ricardo Lopez.

            Easily.

Although at this point I would place Marquez higher than Barrera in a career comparison, you must not have watched the fight. Maybe you weren't into boxing way back then and you're basing your argument on Boxrec. It was actually close and some folks had Barrera w/the win. In any case, nobody called it any kind of domination...like I said you probably didn't watch it.

As far as your attempt to preempt anyone bringing it up, though JMM is a little older, Barrera had many more hard miles on him at that point in their respective careers. In case we're talking about things you weren't around for, folks used to deride JMM for not taking risks and having boring fights.

Yes, Marquez is above both but all three have very respectable careers.

Wish Marquez fought Hamed. I was curious to see that one played out.
