  • His leg cramps every time to can't cut off a fucking ring? I spotted this during the second half of the Cotto fight, then the whole Mosley fight, all I got was "Those two ran", well, did Marquez run too?

Lets face it, Manny can't cut off the ring.

      • You already used the leg cramp excuse against Mosley. Manny didn't seem to have a problem moving around, he just had no game plan to deal with Marquez. That's on his trainer, I'm looking at you Fred.

If the leg is really a problem and it's going to affect his performance every time out, then retire. Either find someone who knows how to deal with it medically or stop fighting. You can only use that excuse so many times.

You know what's funny? The whole time I was watching the fight last night I couldn't figure out why the hell Manny was letting JMM control th action of the fight in terms of movement/footwork/placement. I kept yelling for his to shift to his right and beat Marquez there and lead with his straight left, that would've gone a long way towards frustrating JMM and his weakness has always been that Pacquiao straight left.

But Manny was just content to follow JMM and let his dictate movement. Made absolutely no sense. It's something so simple but it made a world of difference. I would suggest for his next training camp, they focus less on the mitts and more on footwork and positioning.

          • People have always liked to talk about how judging a prizefight is objective, and can differ slightly depending on what each judges are looking for....but there is no way that Pacquiao won that fight, unless you score points for a guy who ;

---Keeps being moved around the ring in the direction his opponent dictates to him for the entire fight, without a clue about how to deal with that
---Is made to look crude and hit with every counter that was thrown at him
---and for a guy who has no response to his opponents offence other that beating on his own chest with his gloves and raising his arms in the air

This fight had fingerprints of the Mosley fight all over it. In that the movement which Marquez used for the fight, moving Pacquiao in a certain direction for the entire fight, we saw Mosley do the same thing and Pacquiao couldn't do much about it, Shane couldn't capitalise on it though.

Marquez put in a masterful display, manipulating Pacquiao's movement and setting him up for counters, the vast majority of which he landed.

I called it earlier this week, I said that Marquez would either squeeze out a SD or turn in a dominant performance only to get robbed. Of all the three fights, this was the most decisive victory, especially because Pacquiao does not have any knockdowns to his credit to justify his victory.

I have heard some people say "It was close, but Pacquiao was the agressor and therefore gets the nod" ; absolute garbage. Anyone can plod forward cluelessly the way Pacquiao did last night and fights should never be scored sheerly on that, and it's something I am sick of hearing about. The key phrase is "effective aggression", although Pacquiao's aggression was seriously lacking in anything effective.

The telling factor in the scorecards, was that not one of the judges had Marquez winning, and that is absurd.

There was no size difference, something which I have said is absolute bull**** for a while now.

Another similarity from the Mosley fight ; Pacquiao's leg cramps excuse. And don't forget all of the stuff we were fed for months about Manny being in freakish condition, something which was backed up by everyone who was near him during camp. Pacquiao WAS in great shape, but Marquez is a better fighter, a great fighter who has the kind of ring intelligence which is extremely rare, and that along with his incredible ability to make adjustments in fights whenever he needs to.

I noticed Bob Arum was quite excitited after the fight, and the focus of his discussion in the post fight interview was of course, a lucrative "record breaking" fourth fight, and why wouldn't he be? Because on top of everything else, it's a great excuse to keep Pacquiao away from the beating that Floyd Mayweather would undoubtedly inflict on him, of that there is no doubt.

If I was Marquez, I would tell them to stick a fourth fight up their ass. Anybody with brain function can see the story of the Pacquiao Vs Marquez trilogy.

            • Almost forgot about Khan, who was doing commentary for the Primetime broadcast, who immediatley after the final bell rang, saw £$£$ in his eyes and said "I wanna say right now that I would be happy to fight Marquez now". I'm sure you would Mr "fight the right fighters at the right time when they are old and far past their best"....Amir's words, not mine.

              • Really? Excuses?

Pac can rematch JMM after Pac fights Mayweather in May.

JMM can stay at WW and fight winner of Berto Ortiz, Khan, Bradley, Alexander or any JWW /WW guys.

Funny how Team Pac are ready to jump on JMM after waiting 4 years and than 3 years but now want to rematch him instantly? I call bull****, fight Mayweather May 5th....

BRAVO. Well said. I had said in the fight discussion that Mosley exposed Manny with his movement.

                  • Pac's footwork has looked less than stellar and his offense has been one dimensional in his last two fights. What is this leg cramps talk? An excuse for inability to adapt or some medical thing?
