  • Pacquiao vs Marquez 3 just made boxing more interesting, and that's without suckerpunches and legal fouls!

    • Mayweather is cracking up after this fight. I mean, it was a hell of a fight. But to me Marquez won with clearer and crispier punches. But of course they weren't going to just give him the decision over Pacquiao. Especially with a Floyd Mayweather showdown possibly looming.

The thing about it is, from this show Pacquiao put on, Im almost uninterested in the Mayweather fight now. I'm quite sure Mayweather would pick Pacquiao apart and he wouldn't have a chance. Almost even more certain than I ever was before. This was the risk of Pacquiao fighting Marquez again.

It was a ****** move imo. He would have to beat Marquez in convincing fashion just as Mayweather did. But he can't really stop this guy. So even if he won a decision which he did, if he didn't dominate the fight it was going to be loss for him either way. But judging from their last two fights, neither fighter dominated so that thought of him dominating was close to impossible.

Mayweather took over a year off from boxing and came back and dominated Marquez. I cant stand the double standard of saying Marquez is a lightweight. But it's never used in Manny's case. If you say Floyd only dominated Marquez because he's a lightweight and make a bunch of excuses about weight, then what is your excuse for Pacquiao being picked apart by right hands and body combinations the whole fight?

I mean it's only revealing the inevitable to people that dont understand boxing and styles. Mayweather would just pick this guy apart. He's faster and stronger than Marquez. And he's going to get hit a lot less than Marquez. Nevertheless Im hoping they just make the fight so Mayweather can shut everyone up and make a hell of a lot of money doing it.

This goes to show you that idiots like Skip Bayless just say stuff to get attention as well as that clown Bob Arum. In Skip Bayless' case, he get's paid to get attention. You really can't take anything the guy says seriously. Pacquaio knocking Mayweather out in 4 or 5 rounds? Lol. He cant even knockout a ****ing lightweight in 12 rounds.

The notion that Pacquiao beat all of Mayweather's leftovers in convincing fashion is redundant. Because usually after a fighter takes a tough loss, or a beating, he doesn't come back the same fighter. Seems this fight only leaves Pacquiao fans in disappointment and despair. Knowing that their favorite fighter struggles against a 38 year old lightweight who he's faster and stronger than. Lol.

      • Which fight were they watching?!!!

Anyone who really thought Marquez would win, even with a great performance like this was just fooling themselves. Clearly Marquez DID win, but Manny is too "marketable" to be beaten by anyone other than Mayweather at this point and as a result you get this steaming pile of ****. Had they scored it correctly and awarded Marquez the win he deserved it would take away the marketability of the Pacquiao vs Mayweather fight since Mayweather has already beaten Marquez easily. It is really sickening and I hope all the judges are in pieces somewhere. This is a sad day for boxing. Check out how surprised Manny is when they announce him as the winner. Even he is like WTF! I won??!!!

        • The deal is in; Pacman fights JMM a fourth time and then retires. He'll say he has to concentrate on politics and will become an international statesman. He will NOT fight Floyd because such a devastating loss would ruin his image.

          • gifts from and to judges

The judges did exactly what they were paid to do: vote for the favorite to preserve the next superfight. With a megafight looming with Floyd, the judges would never work again had the voted for JMM. They had to protect the Pacman institution.

In college football recruiting, you always hear of the $1,000.00 hand shakes where the booster slips the recruit some cash. I wonder does that happen in boxing. Do promoters slip the judges some extra cash after the fight for a job well done?

You always hear of judges giving gifts to fighters, maybe it works the other way around also.

            • Let's put closure to this then:

              1. Punchstats from Compubox: Pacquiao Marquez
              Jabs (landed) 304 (59) 182 (38)
              Powershots (landed) 274 (117) 254 (100)
              Total 578 (176) 436 (138)
              Average per round 14 out of 49 ( 11 out of 36

              2. Only the scores of three judges really matters here, two says Pacquiao won, and one says its a draw. Did you hear any of the judges saying Marquez won?

              • Marquez won. The decision was a disgrace to boxing and the fans. We deserve this krap because we pay for tickets and pay-per-view. The solution is to ban boxing. WWE is more credible now. Mayweather is also overrated. Refs and judges help him all the time and he hugs and runs the entire fight, not to mention the cheap shots.

                • I expect MANY Pac fans to jump ship. Not only did Pac think he had lost by going to is corner with his head down, the entire crowd knew he lost. However I scored it a draw but can EASILY see Pac winning. I'm glad he did. I knew he would. Now, I can honestly say I over rated Pac like many for this fight. A little LW like JMM whooped Pac's a$$ but could not keep up with the younger fighter in Pac at WW. EVERYONE witnessed why this fight was not held at lower weights where JMM is king.

Pac was eating lead rights all night. Was frustrated by the counter punching and at times looked like he wanted to quit. This LW in JMM just displayed how washed up Pac's recent hand selected in house opposition has been. I call BULL **** to Bob for even looking at a rematch. It took 4 years to make the first one and another 3 years for this one. Mayweather is next on May 5th.

Pac is in for a major ass whoopin and if little LW JMM can "hurt" Pac, you best believe Mayweather could stop Pac just like he did with Hatton. Pac is going to be full from eating lead rights all night. Roach could even possibly stop at because Pac as shown last night STILL CAN NOT handle counter punchers, and is VERY VERY VERY easy to hit.

                  • I think it was a tough contested fight but a clear close win for Paquiao. Would love Pac-May next year and finish his career with JMM IV.

I think of this rivalry as being 2-1 pacquiao. (To me Marquez won the 2nd fight, but haven't watched it in a while)

I would imagine that its just like politicians. The promoters are like lobbyist who try to outbid each other with big cash payments to the judges under the table.
