Marquez is the only one who has given Manny a hard fight since the last time they fought. It's pretty amazing when you think of all the bigger guys he has since fought and dominated and then it comes back to this. I thought it was close but the decision was right. Manny didn't seem to have the same legs in these last 2 fights and only showed a flicker of that all over the place type of movement at... I believe it was around the end of the 6th or 7th round. He complained again of leg cramps like he did in the Mosley fight. Could be that he no longer lives the life of a boxer now that he is a politician. Floyd definitely made Marquez look like he didn't belong in the ring with him...and Marquez definitely looked like he belonged in that ring tonite. All in all it was a good nite of boxing.

Marquez isn't really a knockout artist even tho he has decent pop, he is more of a break you down boxer. But its hard to breakdown Pacquiao because Pacquiao can take a punch. And he is definitely not going to be a knockout artist at a weight class he barely has fought at.

I am still disgusted by the result. Pacquaio knew he lost and looked devastated when fight ended. Yet later he claims he "clearly won". You just lost a big fan Pacquiao.

what ur definition of harder or significant shots by boxing experts standards?? The problem with some ppl here they expect Pac to overwhelm his opponents when he had a bad night they try to treat Pac as a failure right away....i scored the bout 115-113 which can go either way...*****s dont deserve to post here coz ur already biased,STFU and review the fight....i think u didnt see the fight

For me its not about Pacquaio being past his best, that's not the case here, his speed and movement is as good as it was against Cotto, Hatton etc, his punching accuracy? Hard to tell with Marquez being such a tricky customer, but what is pissing me off, is the lack of credit Marquez is getting.. In the build up he was the side show, the warmup act, fs I think Pac's entourage got as much 24/7 coverage as Marquez did. But the fact that when the fight ended, alot of people including pacquaio, roach and from what I can tell 80% of fans thought Marquez won and won convincingly, tells you the type of performance he put in. And for what another 'L' on his record, an 'L' that should be at the very least a D or W. IMO it's a sorry set of affairs for boxing. It was just as bad as the Diaz Malignaggi decision, but it's magnified 10 fold because it was such a high profile fight. Clearly the judges have been swayed the fighters reputation and the company promoting the event, and of course the mega $$$$ fight PBF. I still cant get my head around the 116-112 score? Marquez deserved the W, his performance was outstanding, made Pacquaio look ordinary at times, and came away with nothing. However in regards to the general Boxing 'fan' (excluding the casual), he earned a W in this fight.

So what happened to Pacquaio? As I mentioned I believe his speed and movement were the same as before, but what was the difference in this fight? Well for starters you had a fighter coming into the fight 'actually' believing he could win, and not just saying it, this was no Clottey, Mosley or Margarito, this was a fighter who genuinely believes he has Pacs number, which proved to be the case, someone who was not beat upon leaving the dressing room. Also, this is the first time since the 2nd fight, that Pacquaio has actually faced a pure boxer, rather than a slugger or a brawler, someone who is not flat footed and has a measure of skill, someone who does not continuely walk forward and try and absorb the hundreds of punches that Pac throws in a fight, this was a thinking mans fighter, and is clearly the type of fighter that Pac has problems with. And that leads onto mayweather. Personally, this fight, if it happens, is one way traffic, with mayweathers speed, skill and general all round power, not too mention the massive reach advantage he would have over Pac, this would be a straight forward victory for Floyd. The one shot that Pac seems vulnerable too, and Cotto and Clottey and Marquez showed was the uppercut, Mayweather loves that shot, I could see him KO'ing Pac if that fight did happen

I already saw the fight twice and I think your score is fair, but to see pac won because he outlanded JMM by a "wide" margin is completely biased. I am not a Pac fan but I am certainly not a Mayweather fan either. They are both clowns imo. The difference is I think Mayweather is better than he is given credit for and Pac is not as good as he is given credit for. Look at my top ten fighters. They are guys from all over the world, no biased. I just like multi-dimensional fighters not all out brawlers that get confused by a little lateral and head movement.
