Exactly. tyson Marquez went to Panama and tore some shi!t up - that should be FOTY. No doubt about it. Rios-Antillon was a great fight, too.

        5) Rios-Acosta

        9) Salido-JuanMa
        10) Kirkland-Angulo
I said Marquez vs Concepcion but IMO it still falls short of Wolak vs Rodriguez

Rodriguez/Wolak had more drama, but Rios/Acosta had better punch quality. Wolak has such an ugly (albeit crowd-pleasing) style, he spent half the fight squared-up, throwing punches like a rock 'em sock 'em robot. I wish he had a style that required a little more intelligence and less dependency on heart/stamina/punch resistance. Him and Rios have a similar style, but I feel Rios is just more of a beast, maybe a different beast entirely, Rios throws basically every shot with bad intentions and is a better inside fighter imho.

Regardless, two great fights, and IDK which one to pick lol. Now ima go watch Berto/Ortiz again.

Wolak has absolutely no power but the back and forth action of that fight was amazing

Do yourselves a favor and watch Marquez vs Concepcion on YouTube. It blew any other fight of 2011 out of the water -- including Ortiz-Berto, Rodriguez-Wolak, and Rios-Antillon.

Watchin Concepion/Marquez, the first 3 rounds have more action and intensity than some 10/12-round fights lmao

Rios/Antillon and Angulo/Kirkland were entertaining, but were one-sided beatdowns more than anything.

FOTY was either Woalk-Rodríguez or Ríos-Acosta.

                    The weaknesses in:

                    Rios-Antillon-one-sided, far too short.
Angulo-Kirkland-aside from round 1, it was Kirkland busting Angulo up.

Ok, Concepion/Marquez was a great fight too, but the ending was kinda anti-climatic, but I guess all the knockdowns made up for it. It was a beauty how Marquez was able to continuously time Concepion as he came in. Whoever awards these fights is gonna have a hard time choosing the definitive FOTY lol
