How anyone can try and argue who won that fight is beyond me,
How anyone can honestly say that don't think there is something fishy going on behind closed doors I don't know.

I'm not one to cry "FIX!" But after lastnight, I am lost for words.
As a big boxing fan, I am also upset and disheartened that sport I have loved all my life has gotten to this stage.
That us fans, don't matter anymore.

Marquez is a warrior and a true champion.
He has Mannys number, simple as and I think he always will.
I'm not gonna hate on Manny but he was outclassed.

Lastnight was a sad time for boxing.
Very well said, I am disgusted with boxing now and feel bad for JMM who boxed and countered very well and deserved a W. Everyone knows he is better than Pac now.

    • For the last time, it wasn't that close. 8-4 is pretty one-sided, IMO. And that's how most people saw it, in favor of Marquez.

Also, for the last time ; There IS a such thing as a "close robbery". Contrary to popular belief, a fight can be close and a robbery, at the same time.

      See : Chavez/Whitaker.

      Knowledge. Get some.

      • I mean, Pacquiao clearly lost but what did you want him to say, "yea it could have gone either way"?

I said he thought he won and it was a tough fight, that's what I would say in his position.

The fight really wasn't that hard to score though, Marquez clearly won when scoring it round by round.

        • can we all just look at this realistically for a second:

          Pac was the aggressor

IMO he won at least 7 rounds.

2 judges saw it that way.

None of the judges thought JMM won.

The only damage JMM did was via headbutt.

Pac outlanded JMM by almost 40. So the only argument people had for JMM winning 1 and 2, was that he outlanded pac by 25 in total [but was KD'd 4 times] ---- but when pac outlands him by 38 in 1 fight.....he lost?

Please get over it. Pac won all 3 fights.

            that's not pac's fight.

pac has many advantages over jmm. technique and boxing skills is not one of them.

they fought jmm's fight in the beginning. got jmm comfortable.
I thought the same thing, there were times were Pacquiao stopped in the ring and looked like he was motioning for JMM to come forward.

Close fights DO HAVE DECISIVE WINNERS. It happens and tonight was an example. Cotto-Mosley....close fight, but Cotto CLEARLY won. If Cotto didn't get the decision it still would have been a robbery regardless of the fact that the fight was close.

              • JMM became my 2nd favorite current fighter last night...he put on an absolute clinic in beating Pac-Man...and anyone who wants to trycand convince themselves otherwise should be ashamed of themselves...

Pac knew he lost...Roach knew they lost...Jinkee knee they lost...it was a terrible, terrible moment for boxing last night...

I'm exceptionally glad I didn't pay for the fight and caught a stream on UK television...even Amid Khan was able to say that Marquez won the fight...even though you could HEAR the pain it caused him to say it...

Edit: and as far as Mayweather v Pac is concerned?...lock it up...Manny might end up in the Intensive Care Unit...Floyd does everything that JMM does...just much, much better...

                • It isn't so much that two out of three impartial judges could have it 115-113 or 115-114 based on their own subjective perception of the action in the fight, even though it's a less likely outcome than two or three impartial judges seeing Marquez the winner.

It's more that a dynamic has been established, and this outcome was oh-so predictable in the event of the fight going to the cards with Marquez looking like the winner.

I mean, who has Pacquiao winning 8 rounds in that fight? Well, Trowbridge did, even after inexplicably giving Marquez the 12th (presumably to make his card look a bit less obvious).

Come on. Marquez was never getting the decision, and some of us called this before the first bell even rang (ie. Marquez needing a KO to win, because he couldn't win a decision).

                  • No, I can't be the only one who had Pac winning the fight by 2 rounds. It was close but I still had Pac winning. This isn't a robbery at all. People are just making a big fuss that Manny couldn't knock him out.

8-4.. really???...Because I had it 6-6. And for those journalist who had Marquez scored it 7-5...The 116-112 for Pac was too much though. If Pac was goin to win, it would have been 115-113...
