for those of you that are screaming robbery or that jmm won, let’s break it down…
based on total punches landed, paquaio won 9 rounds to jmm ‘s 3 …that’s giving jmm the rounds that are even, rounds 3 and 9

based on jabs landed, pacquaio won 8 rounds to jmm’s 4….again, thats giving jmm the round that’s even, round 8

the most effective punches, the power punches….

I completely agree. Marquez backpedalled for 12 rounds. You want to beat the champ you need to show more than that, don't expect a close fight will give you the nod, it don't work that way. You'd think after 2 close fights he would have learned his lesson. He did say he was going for the knockout, but showed up exactly the same as the previous fights. Manny could have played the counterpuncher also like in the first round, but that would have been an ugly, boring fight. Someone needed to take the aggressor role. Mayweather v. Marquez, Marquez took the aggressor role and he paid for it. Two counter punchers waiting for the other to make a move is an ugly match.

Marquez' fights are always close no matter who he fights, it's just the style he uses, which is to react to his opponents moves. And he's used to getting the nod on most of these fights. Guess what, that don't work when your against the champ, you need to show more. Getting outworked and outpunched isn't going to do it in a close fight.

The expectations were so high that the results took everyone by surprise. The fight was so close that if it was a draw, it was fine, if Marquez got the nod, it was fine, if Pacquiao got the nod, it was fine. That's how close it was, again it's the style of the fight.

I have yet to find a credible round by round explanation for Marquez 8-4. Anyone? Only thing i heard was oh Pacquiao wasnt able to do what he usually does and thats why Marquez won the round.
