Harrison is definetly beatable, once you break his confidence he absorbs a lot of hits and won't fire back as often -

at least in the U.K you have many more fighters (population) and are in europe, russia, etc.........
it is very difficult for us to get fighters in.....indonesia has only a couple fighters .....
so basically, if you are based in australia, the chances are very very remote that you can get good fights, good sparring, etc....
Australia is still a fairly well populated and sports friendly country though, it just surprises me that the Aussie competitiveness hasn't translated itself to Boxing.Comment

Looks like they're doing a lot of losing fairly recently.
Couldn't resist, sorry.

too difficult mate..........if we were 20 million in the one state, yes we would be better.............but seeing that we are strewn over the vast country, it makes the development so difficult.....Originally posted by BeowulfAustralia is still a fairly well populated and sports friendly country though, it just surprises me that the Aussie competitiveness hasn't translated itself to Boxing.
it is hard to finance a tournament in perth and have amateurs in from brisbane........whereas you guys can bus it from southampton to glasgow in an early morning....
and as mentioned, we are just so far away from the rest of the world and competitive boxing nations...........
it won't be long though until we are beating england at football.......mark my words...Comment

Sorry dudes i woulda done the thing but well done to Tony. I was watching it.
The Amir Khan one started off really well. Amir was anxious it seems, to go for the KO right from the bell. He began by throwing lots of jabs but soon trapped his man and began to unload some really nice combos. Body-head-body-head. It basically went on. Amir was dominating, with hands down in places. However the commentators where saying he needs to fix that or he will be punished in the future. They are right about that, it seemed that when he had his man on the ropes he let his defence go and just unloaded shots. If the dude had a bit more heart and threw shots back one may have caught. I dont think Amir's chin is that bad though....
Basically Amir was battering Gethin and it ended in the 3rd when he had him on the ropes and hit him with an uppercut and about 6 straights (one of the straights hit his glove the rest hit him in the face). Then the ref jumped in. At first i was like WDF! I thought the ref had stopped it prematurely. But when i saw the replay i suppose you could argue that it was a fair stoppage. The man definetly could have gone on, but i think it was more of a matter of he wasnt throwing any shots. He completley went into his shell. Oh yeah i forgot to mention, Amir was using the jab and left hook to counter nicely. This intimidated Gethin, but i sense it wouldnt intimidate fighters with a bit more heart.
Anyway. Peace.
Ill try and find the fight and get it up for you lot like i did with the other fight of Amir's.
