This is reasonably likely to happen at some point in the future.

However, I can't see why people compare the two when talking about a possible Hatton vs. Mayweather match-up. As much as I like Gatti, I have to admit that Hatton is a much better boxer and would fight a more intelligent fight than Gatti did against Floyd. Bear in mind that Gatti got most of his rep from being bashed up. He's a crowd pleaser, not a title holder.

So... what would happen? I'd have it Hatton TKOing Gatti within 7.

I agree totally, Anorak. Gatti also had a load of wear and tear going into the Mayweather fight, Hatton hsn't really been hurt apart from a few cuts here and there.
Also, Hatton does box his way inside and i think Hatton may have the better chin. But thats Mayweather Vs Hatton and i think i'll stay on the topic. Hatton Vs Gatti at this stage is a one way fight, Hatton wins by stoppage somewhere between rounds 5 and 8!

This is why boxingscene is going down hill. Comments like this. Gatti KO Hatton....Gatti couldn't KO Micky Ward, Ivan Robinson, Angel Manfredy, Gianfranco Banco, and Joe Hunchinson ( Hatton destoryed huchtinson in 4 rounds, shortly after Gatti went the distance ).
So please explain how Gatti KO`s a man Tsyzu couldn't hurt?

This could be exciting for about 3 rounds then Hattons work rate and pressure would take over,Gatti would take a beating until the ref steps in after about 7 or 8 rounds.imo.

Total mismatch. He could choose whenever to knock Gatti out. Hatton in 5 or 6 it wouldn't go past the 8th round
