The fact that this getting more attention than Joe, his legacy, and his family is sad.

    *****s and *******s are ridiculous.

Does it? Granted i don't browse boxingscene much anymore, but the impact fraziers death has had on forums and in mainstream media is pretty significant.

I the wake of Joe Frazier's passing Floyd couldn't just say some kind words and leave his condolences, he had to try and interject himself into the limelight by saying "My condolences go out to the family of the late great Joe Frazier. The Money team will pay for his funeral." What kind off jerk off does this? If you want to do a good deed than do it. Don't announce it hoping to get some recognition when the hour is squarely about Frazier and his family. This kid has no class whatsoever.
i dont usually get involved in floyd threads but hes doing a great thing,he didnt announce it to the world but to his fans who follow him on twitter, nothing wrong with that, its the year 2011 and everything is moving forward with technology,if stars want to say something to their fans then so be it.

if floyd called a press conference and then announced it that he was paying for joe's funeral then that would be a attention whore move, not a simply tweet, let it go man, there's no need for it,if you dont like the man at least respect what he has done,i still havent see any other boxer or promoter come forward and say they will split the costs with floyd.

you dont have to like floyd but respect the man when he deserves it

Some of you guys get out of hand...And, I'm talking about the haters and fan boys.

Floyd paying for the funereal it's awesome thing to do. Hats off...He didn't have to tweet about it though. There's no need to. He could have went about it the same way as the Chicanito funereal. As far as I know there was no tweet announcement. But, so what? He tweeted whatever, I just take it as Floyd being Floyd. I don't think in his mind he meant any harm by it. The way he said it with the "money team"(which BTW it's so ****** to say money team) it came off wrong. But, IMO he meant it as good gesture.

If the Frazier family doesn't have a problem with it. Then who am I to have a problem with it? As long as the Frazier family is happy with the gesture then it's all good.

My mind is more worried about a legend who was an absolute warrior passing. Then whatever the hell Floyd is tweeting about.

The thing is nobody know if PBF is paying or not. From that tweet it was offer to pay IMO. Since I am taking it as an offer we don't know if the Frazier family has accepted that offer. For all we know they could have told him no already cause on the low some people in Philly who got some change could have told the Frazier family they would cover it.

I could be wrong but I could be right!

While i do think it's a great thing, and that it's likely floyd didn't even reflect upon it, i still think he should have just kept it on the lowdown.

                Why?

Mostly out of respect for the champ, and for his family. I realize his family, and frazier himself may not have been doing well financially, but theres still a sense of pride to be kept by not having the world know someone else is paying for fraziers funeral.

I think floyds intentions are great. I don't think its a well thought out marketing ploy to gain good PR. But the optimal way to handle it would have been to do so quietly.
Have you managed a funeral before?
