So he announced it this one time, big deal.Originally posted by BoZz View PostOh yea the congressman excuse..
That's exactly the point..it's his job..he's meant to do that kind of stuff why bring it up on 24/7 over and over again??
We have already seen him do the same stuff in the 24/7 episode from 2 years ago..where he talked about building schools and what not..24/7 is about boxing and yes some private life but he's done it more than once bragging about his goodness and willingness to help..it's your job pac..you're supposed to do it.
Scenario 1:
The set of 24/7. Producers, Directors, Coordinators etc.
Trying to produce an entertaining insight into the preperations of the two fighters. Giving insight into the character of these two fighters. Trying to create an interesting dynamic.
There are others involved trying to extract what interesting material they can out of the situation.
Scenario 2:
Floyd goes on twitter and tells the whole world that he is paying for Joe Fraziers funeral costs.
The whole way in which manny is portrayed as the good guy and floyd is portrayed as the bad guy.... is a simplistic theme created by the media.
However in this situation Floyd is playing the ****ing role perfectly.

however there is benefit for you and that is why you posted it on twitter, let the people praise and thank you not the other way around.

This thread is a prime example of the unnecessary hate that goes Floyd's way. I'm not sure there's another sporting figure that would get at much criticism as Floyd has for making that comment on twitter. It's a good deed he's doing, if he wants to let the public know then so be it.
Boxing lost a legend today, let's focus on that and leave the Floyd bashing out of a thread for once fellas.

It is a nice gesture...BUT
I also see where some people are coming from in terms of him announcing it.
He says people do not acknowledge the good things he does, the charity work, donations, personal gestures like this, but surely that is up the beneficiaries, or the people around him to promote, not himself. You don't make a point of not getting recognition, and cry about it on national tv! That defies the point in the first
It is up to his PR team, but the people he surrounds himself with are amateurs. That is why his boxing career took so long to take off (should have been a cross-over star years before he actually became one), and partly why he is a disliked public figure. I say partly because he does some of that himself, some of you people say this shows what a good person he is, well...I don't know many "good people" who call their dad a ******. Clearly he doesn't have a bad heart, but he is a long...long way from being a well-rounded decent human being.
Like I said Paying for the funeral costs is a really nice gesture, but announcing it is not classy...at all. In fact Mayweather does not have a classy bone in his body, outside the ring.

That's a good gestures.
But, don't get me wrong,
it would have been nice if Floydie extended help to Smookin Joe when he was still alive and struggling in his sickness.
hopefully, he can display that kind of generosity to his own biological Father and his ex battered wife/girlfriend, while they are still ALIVE.
as they say it: "charity begins at home."

Everything before a BUT is a lie, so when folks say, "yeah that was a nice gesture from Floyd BUT..." I stop listening to them because their words hide their true feelings and sentiments which are padded with false praise.
I'm not sure what celebrity funerals cost these days but I imagine that Floyd is going to spending a nice chunk of change, not much by his standards, but for the people that don't have figure out where the money is coming from I imagine it's a blessing.
It's really cool how many members responded to Floyd's "gesture" in a positive manner. And for those that didn't, it's to be expected because these individuals are out of their emotional depth and are clearly not charitable enough in spirit to let their criticism(s) of Floyd Mayweather rest for one day.
It's a shame really, but I think it's too much to ask some folks to be mature and understanding on a public forum.
