Cotto's lookin' fierce and if he actually is training harder than he ever has (hopin' it's not just fight hype), I'll be lookin' forward to him extracting an excruciating price from a guy who I believe likely to have cheated in their first meeting.
Wonder if one of the 'secret things' they're working on is how to avoid the uppercuts that you know Marg is gonna' be banking on.
I'm startin' to get psyched for this fight.
I'm half Mexican, but on 12/3 I'll be half Boricua too!
War Cotto!!!
Yeah, Margo's got a mean uppercut. Busted Cotto's nose in the 2nd round, and he was swallowing blood which doesn't help stamina. Plus...dam to keep getting hit on a broken nose has GOT to be freakin' painful!
No doubt this is one of the most obvious and detrimental aspects of Cotto's defense that needs attention. If he can keep off the ropes, quit the backing up crap and learn to move laterally and use that jackhammer jab to target Tony's bad eye...he stands a pretty dam good chance of winning.
I have more emotional attention invested in this fight than any other fight i can think of. He just can't lose this fight. I mean this in a hopeful attitude way. It means so much to him and his fans, especially die-hard ones like me.
Props for the Video , Cotto is looking good and strong . I hope mentally hes prepared, although most of you will disagree but its hard as hell to have that question mark over your head if your going to overcome it, and beat the guy that punished you in the 1st match.War Cotto War Marg
It might be apparent that the change in trainer might help him. This trainer can dedicate more time to him than Steward and also is focus in conditioning.
I am not going to lie. Cotto isn't looking so well. He looks softer and more plodding in his movement. Maybe he will sharpen up but as of now he doesn't look anywhere near as good as he has in the past.

You think speed is a concern for Cotto in this fight? I think that we will see the strongest Cotto we have seen yet at 154.
I worked under this trainer in Miami when he worked with Jean Pascal. He's very good in working on exactly what a fighter needs for that fight. He also had a very good staff of guys who work on the conditioning aspect of the fighter.
I just think that at the stage that Marg and Cotto are at, you can't really teach a dog new tricks. In the video he even says that Cotto did everything right in the first fight strategically but he didn't hold up physically and I agree.
The thing is, Cotto is now older, slower and less active. I would be shocked if he came out and performed the way he did 5 years ago. That version of Cotto at 147 beats Marg but this version at 154....I'm not so sure.
