  • Comments Thread For: Nothing ‘Super’ Without Him: Bute Makes a Statement

31-year old Romanian IBF Super Middleweight titlist Lucian Bute (30-0, 24 KO) of Montreal, Quebec, Canada, answered questions about what he could do against proven, top shelf opposition with a master class performance on Saturday night at the Pepsi Coliseum in Quebec City against former Light Heavyweight titlist Glen Johnson (51-16-2, 35 KO).

Roaldie, you see why you were wrong about Bute's speed? He's an A. . . AT THE LOWEST an A-. . . Extremely fleet of hand and foot. . .

I think you're overrating it a tad. Might be wrong. Need to see him against someone else with world class speed. That chance is coming. He looked very good tonight. Like watching Bute.

He's better than everyone thinks....especially here on bscene, where everyone seems to think he is a bum. Iv'e watched alot of his fights, and he is clearly in the top 3 at 168 with Ward and Froch, and iv'e been saying that for a long time. His footwork is superb, he is brilliant to the body, mixes his attack nicely and he has real power when he let's his hands go. He drops guys with left uppercuts that travel about a foot, and he is deceptively fast. He's dangerous and he will prove that once he gets in the ring with Kessler, Froch and Ward.

Did he put it on Johnson like a supreme champion? Did he mix it up?

No he stood feinting and bending, shooting the odd jab and a rare left hand. Stepping out of range, refusing to engage in a dull as dishwater fight that sent the entire boxing world to sleep.

I followed the comments on twitter from all the journalists and websites - and he impressed nobody.

It was a fight where Johnson tried to box (wtf) and Bute was happy to stand off all night long.

I knew this was going ot be a shutout as I posted 2 weeks ago but Bute looked bad in winning, he had to know this was Johnson's style...Glen will continue , and keep losing @ 43 but he's making the best $$ of a long carerr, and hope he stays sane...

Glen Johnson were just there to go the 12 rounds and get a paycheck, not much for Bute to work with.

Not impressed with Bute at all. Revenge win on Andrade who was robbed of a rightful KO the 1st time. KO Miranda, a bigger version of Mayorga. Now shutting out old man Johnson. Screw him. Ward will gladly wipe the mat with Bute when the Super 6 is over. So would Froch for that matter.
