  • wow, can't wait for the videos to be uploaded in yt, a lot of guys got burned for this fight, underestimating JK's resolved and chin......I myself picked AA to win late in the fight because of his more colorful resume..

I thought Angulo would come better prepared for Kirkland, I thought he would have known to keep composed but he blew it. I questioned James heart though in connection to his endurance, I didn't think he would be able to take a greuling fight later on in the fight and would lose on points. there's a saying that goes fatigue makes cowards of everyone, I thought James would fatigue later on and lose his composure but it was the complete opposite, the very same thing except in favor of James and I'm very happy right now.

I was rooting for James though the whole fight and honestly going in I was hoping and wishing for James to win so when he started his **** I went ballistic, I freaked the **** out yo because my heart was with him but going by what I knew of the two I felt like Angulo's style was better suited to last in a war. I will no longer doubt James Kirkland in a fight, I seriously believe no one at 154 can beat him, maybe Canelo but I even doubt that
what do you think about a rematch of this fight? How would of the fight played out if angulo wouldn't of punched himself out? thats something I would of love to see. Kirkland showed great heart as well as angulo did mother****er didn't go down for a second time and there was no quit in him referre saved him from himself.

      • I'm not surprised!!

I've always thought that HBO was hyping this kid and making him to be better than he actually is. He got schooled during his first lost to a guy that was able to out box him and I thought that anyone that were very good boxers would dominate him and expected that they would make sure that he goes up against guys that would just stand in there with him.

Top my surprise, that put him up against another puncher. I've never thought that he would be out punched in any fight. Although he does not look as physically imposing as some of these other fighters, he has an excellent chin and just seemed to be stronger than everyone else. During this particular fight, he fought a guy that was just as strong as him, but was faster, had a chin, and the stamina to compete with him.

I do not think Angulo is as great as people are teying to make him out to be. I think he will continue to lose to the top echelon boxers in the division. He will always be a very good fighter, but he will always come up short when it really counts.

Like I said in my first ever post (this is my 2nd), I'm a Mayweather fan, but if he fought Pac and if I was a betting man, I would either bet against Mayweather or not bet at all.

Good post crillz, but I think Lara would beat the brakes off Kirkland. Molina would, possibly even Vanes would. He can lose to guys at 154 no doubt. But great win tonight.

          • Yes, now bring on Kirkland vs Alverez winner gets Martinez vs Chavez Jr winner!

With the winner of Cotto Margarito II somewhere in the mix if they don't end up having a trilogy.

Kirkland is back... Wolfe beat his a$$...

i cant lie i had angulo winning this fight. kirkland was always a fav of mine but i thought angulo would be too strong for james. but james appears to have angulos number. i think james beats angulo in a re match. can angulo over come the mental anguish from taking such a beating?

People are too quick to label guys as chinny. David Haye and Amir Khan for example. Khan took Maidanas best shot and Haye took W Klitschkos best and both survived. Not exactly featherfisters.

The guy came into Angulo's backyard and fought his heart out.. give the man his props. Angulo gassed out for a reason and James put the right amount of pressure on him which made it worse. I had a real gut feeling he was going to pull it off, good on him.
Agreed. James went into Angula's turf and wasn't afraid to go toe to toe. Mexicans mad just because they overhyped Angula and he just got his azz kicked at home in front of his people. He is a good fighter but not an elite fighter.
