yawn...testing should be done several times a year even when a fighter is not training for a fight. the fact that they are going out of their ways to prove something is a little su****ious to be quite honest. clean up the sport my ass, where was all this stuff 10 years ago? one guy makes a meteoric rise through weight classes and now its time to clean up boxing. give me a break...

i'm not against testing but in the manner of which they are doing it, it is grandiose, because what does it prove? they were clean of selective substances during a controlled period of time?

I'm sure you were singing the same words (ie There is no cost for ones health or safety) when Floyd SUCKER PUNCHED Ortiz. Right?

Floyd basically knew that the young naive Ortiz would be at his most vulnerable position when he was caught with his hands down and apologizing.

I'm sure that due to your "safety concerns" you now want that rule of "tricking your opponent" enforced. Or actually better more stringent rules so that it never happens again.

That is not what I heard from the Floyd fans nor Floyd after the sucker punch. There was no concern of "safety" nor of "fair play" ..... all I heard was "too bad for Ortiz ... you need to protect yourself at all times"

......BUT when it comes to PEDs and Manny that is all I hear from you Floyd fans! "SAFETY & FAIR PLAY" concerns!

Oh and to fix this rule no extra money is required! No 50K required to improve safety and fair play concerns! Worst case scenario, DQ!!!

To both. If Berto loses again he has no excuse and even though its not year round you have to start somewhere and this a good start.

Now, everyone say thank you Mr. Mayweather aka Mr. game changer.

GREAT step forward! Now we need all fighters to jump aboard and then push for all year around testing. The license fees for boxing should include testing fees.

If Ortiz has the same mindset as the first fight, he'll beat Berto even worse this time. Berto's gonna be tentative and question himself.

This is a good step for boxing. Random testing should be mandatory for all fighters. Just knowing that they COULD be tested would deter cheaters.
