This is devastating, I hope he can keep fighting. Which he is damn good at.
I've seen him around the city several times but only met him once and he was crazy nice. I was a dishwasher at this restaurant and one of the cooks told me Joe Frazier was out there eating. I asked my manager if I could go out there and get an autograph or anything, of course he told me know because I was wearing an apron and all dirty, and he cant have the workers out there bothering the customers. So I told the waitress to let me know when they were done eating and I went out and caught him in the parking lot. Given the circumstances he was very nice shook my hand (damn near took it off) and I got a photo with him on my phone. We even sat back for a little and talked boxing.
Unfortunately that was years ago and I lost the phone. The owner of my gym knows him pretty well, and also Bernard Hopkins every once in a while on of those guys would show up at the gym. Hopefully Ill be seeing him for more years to come.Comment
