The - a different split - is part of the reason why Bob Arum doesn't want the fight. When he keeps fights within Top Rank (as he's made Mosley and Marquez do before their fights), he's getting over 27% of 100% of the total revenue (for fights averaging over 1M PPV buys). Against Mayweather, he'd get 27% of Pacquiao's 100%, which would be 50% of the total revenue and increases the risk of his investment.
If the highest potential revenue is dictating my decisions, I'd rather make close to or over 27% of $25-40M on a consistent basis than make 27% of $40-60M and risk hurting my investment more than ever before.
After that, he skews the information of Pacquiao's options to favor what he wants and gets Koncz on board. Arum's bottom line and Koncz' self-interest is dictating Pacquiao's decisions in the boxing arena.
Eh...I just can't see it. Even if the Pac fight doesn't happen, I doubt he fights Martinez.
I also doubt that Pac fighting Bradley...The days of Pac fighting a prime elite fighter are over.
If JMM is competitive, I can see a 4th fight, yea I know....If Cotto wins, I can see a Cotto rematch. Just because I find it odd why he asked for 150 catch-weight...To fight a rematch with Pac?
If Marquez is competitive at this point in his career, Pac doesn't beat Mayweather. Pac and his team have done a very nice job of avoiding the Marquez rematches until they think he's gotten older. The first fight against JMM, he was in his latter prime and they fought a draw. They waited 4 years, until JMM was no longer prime for the rematch. They found out Marquez was not prime, but still really good. Then, they wait another 3 1/2 years for the rd fight, until Marquez isn't even THAT good anymore. It's no coincidence.
If Mayweather-Pacquiao doesn't happen, I see a Bradley fight or Cotto rematch. Pac would likely ask Cotto to come back down to 147 though, which would be even worse then the fight itself. Cotto hasn't been s**t since he got KO'd by Margarito, everyone knows that. I'd like to see Alvarez fight Cotto at 154, but doubt that will happen either. Pacquiao-Cotto 2 would probably still sell 1.1-1.2 million PPV's, but it's just a fight that doesn't need to happen. I still think Bradley is a possibility. If Pac fought Bradley, he would get about as much props as when Floyd fought Hatton, which is a really good win. Bradley is prime, unbeaten, top 10 P4P.
On the other side, I still could possibly see Mayweather-Martinez at 150-154. Granted, he wouldn't get nearly as much credit if it was at 150, but it would still be a good fight. 154 is the most fair and equal weight though. I don't see Floyd taking 12+ months off anymore, and Khan won't be available until at least late summer/early fall 2012. We already know Floyd is fight on Cinco De Mayo at the MGM GRAND, and who else is there besides Pac or Martinez??? I don't see Floyd settling for Berto, especially since he just beat Ortiz, who beat Berto.
All things aside, if Pac agrees to random testing without a specific cutoff date, the fight will happen.
this is the same dude that said that within 15 days of the Barker fight they were gonna announce one of the biggest fights of the last 20 years. We didn't hear ****.
And martinez-floyd would sell less than Ortiz-floyd. No one would buy a martinez ppv. At least Ortiz is mexican and can speak english. Martinez-floyd does less than 1 mill.
as much as i like Martinez being a possible for either Pac or May in the near future(although anything under 154 is some ol' bull**** IMHO), the last thing i want to hear is that either one of them has made some sort of deal with him before they even attempt to fight each other.
The world is tired of waiting for that fight, and they both now it, which is why the only other option out there for them is a real challenge in Martinez.

Sadly, this is about as real as it gets, green k coming your way.
& at least IMO this is in no way a knock on Pacquiao himself, because i honestly believe that he would fight anyone put in front of him, but for Arum if it doesnt make dollars it doesn't make sense and i doubt he'd be willing to take such a risk on his biggest investment.
So what does that say about a possible Martinez bout? not likely unless he has to kill himself to make weight, which might be what happens.
YOU Need Drug Tested If You Think Martinez Is A Bigger Draw Than Pacquiao!
Other than Mexico, how many have really seen Martinez fight? He's no Roberto Duran or Julio Cesar Chavez. And as bad as Sergio looked in his last fight, there's nothing exciting about Martinez. I do agree with the comment that Mayweather and Pacquiao will never fight, but not for the reasons this drunk claimed. Floyd wants NO part of Pacquiao.

Actually, Pacquiao wants no part of a drug test he promised he would take.

It's all falling into place. This can't be pure coincidence. I already saw Shaefer's imagination run wild in promoting the Mayweather/Martinez fight as soon as Ellerbe mentioned a May 5th fight for Floyd.
