I bought 12 DVDs with all of Tysons fights some years ago. I guess, with a few exceptions, I've seen all of them including some amateur material. I've also seen nearly all of Vitalis fights if that does change anything for you.

I've stated my opinion on Mike Tyson several times now. Nobody ever gave me any serious con-arguments.

But since you proclaim that Toney Tucker beats Viatli Klitschko easily and Klitschko is Ko2ed by Tyson without giving the slightest explanation I regret spending my time on you anway.

I think it's absurd to hear anyone say a top 10-15 all time Heavyweight in Mike Tyson at his prime, has no chance.

No way Tyson is close to a Top 15 all time rank. His biggest claim to fame is his victory over lt.HW Spinks and being the youngest HW champ ever.

What else has he done?

He lost all his bouts against the other greats of his period.

Tyson is not half his hype.

want an explanation? ok, tucker was 6'5 with a long reach, so he pretty much is matching vitali in height, he was 35-0 and ibf champ in his prime, years after his prime he was still fighting at a top level, he also was still so good after his prime that lewis, even though he was winning the fight, would not go for broke to stop tucker because he was still dangerous. Tucker had a decent chin and the size, power and experience to give vitali all he could handle. and in my opinion more than he could handle

...Quite possibly the greatest Media/PR created illusion in the history of sports. I always maintained that someone who didn't fear him would wilt his bully mentality and kick his ass. Buster Douglas did exactly that I think Holy would have beat his ass 99 out of 100 times in Tyson's prime or out of it.

Lennox Lewis is clearly a better fighter than Vitali Klitschko.

I'm not takeing Klitschko over Tyson because Klitschko is that good but because Tyson never was as good as a lot of people want to believe.

I was referring to Tucker to point out that Tyson always had trouble with tall fighters that possesed a good jab. I don't think Tucker is close to Lewis' level. I don't think Tucker is better than Klitschko either. But that is not the matchup were discussing.

For the Tyson-Klitschko matchup important is that Klitschko is even taller than Tucker, physicilly stronger and has a more awkward but good jab. You see my point?

Newsflash:

We're talking about him fighting a guy who's biggest career wins are over Larry Donald and Kirk Johnson.

I'm the farthest thing from a Tyson fan, and I always see him on people's top ten Heavyweight lists and disagree.

But Tyson was an animal in his prime, and several people in this thread have said he'd have stood no chance against Vitali.

I think that's non sense.

Vitali certianly ranks nowhere near Mike Tyson in a historical context, so your argument about Tyson not being a top 15 fighter doesn't carry very much weight.

To me, the bottom line is that Vitali fights stiff, stands stright up, and has his hands low.

That's a huge mistake against a young Tyson.
