Just read the list fully.............
HOW the **** can you put Sweet Pea in honorable mention when he should be top 3 at least.
Just embarrassing how someone who call them self a boxing "coach" even make a list like this and put Floyd Mayweather and Sweet Pea on honorable mentions.
This list is a JokeComment

Yeah, it's not a bad list, but I think Pernell should be rated higher since he was a pure defensive fighter.
I also think that there are different types of defense; I like the defense that Pernell and Loche had, they stood right in front of their opponents and used nothing but head and upper body movement to avoid punches.
Mayweather and Hopkins are great defensively, no doubt, but they're defense involves using their legs to get out of range of punches and they use their arms to tie up their opponenents. This is effective, but in my opinion, a lot lest entertaining and pleasing to watch than Pernell and Loche.
Wright also had good defense, but it involved using a high guard to block punches. Good and effective.
I still prefer Loche's and Pernel's defense. Not only was it effective, it was also pleasing to watch, and also, the most difficult style to master.
How many fighters in history fought like Pernell and Loche? They are very unique because of that.Comment

Its funny, because by compubox numbers, Mayweather is the best defensive fighter to have put on the gloves; even more than Whitaker. That's how you know compubox isn't perfect, because Sweet Pea IS the best defensive fighter ever. And the proof is in the fights. But they both deserve to be on the top of the list along with the Wisp. Toney, Benitez, Jones Jr, B-Hop.... One guy yall didn't mention is Harold Johnson. He wasn't the slip and make you miss type, but he stayed right in front of you in punching position, and and CAUGHT your punches off the air. Very precise movements and very little wasted energy. He had skills and knowledge of something that's been lost over time. Another guy I personally liked is Jersey Joe Walcott.... moved around the ring well; you couldn't even tell he was switching stances to make you miss. Fought with his hands down. Was a force to be reckoned with in his prime. Anyone else worth mentioning?Comment

Willie Pep winning a round without throwing the punch is a myth and Whitaker needs to be #1 or #2, or at least way more than honorable mention.Comment
