It's not even close to being the mismatch Marquez-Mayweather was, where a full-fledge welterweight had a lightweight prepare for 144, while he prepared to come at the limit. Pac has always been an undersized welter, he weighs in his fights typically what LWs and JWWs rehydrate to. We know there will be only a couple lbs difference between Pacquiao and Marquez on fight night. There's also the fact Marquez knows Pac's style better than anyone and gave him hell for 24 rounds previously. Pac could very well overwhelm Marquez, but it's not a certainty.

How does that work? So Mayaeather is a fully fledged welter now, even though he has also always weighed within the welter limit at fight time, while Pac, having fought at 147 for years now is not?

Yes, of course Marquez is a welterweight! It's not as if he was older than Pac is now and still making featherweight, which Pac couldn't have even gotten close to at 30. Pac couldn't even make 130 or 135 if he had to anymore, while Marquez still does it with ease at 40 years old.

The fight is a mismatch. da ****k are u *******s talking about in hurrr? Pac IS a full fledged WW so shut dat **** up in hurrr. Marquez doesn't belong above 135, which is why Pac is fighting him at the same catchweight Mayweather fought Marquez at. They know that Marquez will be at a disadvantage fighting above 135. This fight shouldn't be competitive, as Pac has all the advantages on his side, which should give him the edge in this fight.

If Pac isn't a WW though like some of you say then why make Marquez move up to 144? Why not 140? Because Pac wants "all" the advantages, despite the lack of legitness within the fight.

you're forgetting that PAC DOESN'T REALLY BELONG AT WW EITHER! But he is just that good. . . He's not a natural WW who has to cut weight, and then rehydrates 10-15 pounds over the limit. . .

How can Pacquiao be so much bigger when he rehydrates to the SAME WEIGHT AS MARQUEZ?!

Hi-Dro, Pac has just gotten accustomed to NOT CUTTING WEIGHT. . . Why should he have to CUT WEIGHT for Marquez? WHY can't they just fight at their NATURAL WEIGHTS?! This way, NOBODY has an advantage because there will be no "draining", etc. . . IN THE OLD DAYS - This is the weight they would fight at!

actually, mayweather REFUSED to weigh in on fight night against marquez and mosley. . . for whatever reason. . . AND, he FAILED TO MAKE 144?! WHY would he GIVE HIS WORD, and then not make the weight if he had no problems? deduce as necessary. . .

How is Marquez AT MOST a lightweight when he rehydrates to 148 pounds?! LOL x 1000!!! They are BOTH fighting at their NATURAL WEIGHTS; this is how they would fight in the OLDEN DAYS before 24 hour weigh-ins. . . NOBODY HAS A SIZE ADVANTAGE! they will both be fully charged with 100% stamina. .. .

bottom-line, pac SHOULD steamroll through jmm... based on speed, power, intensity.

but the more i see how jmm is gaining this weight properly, i dont see it as much of a 'mismatch'. i honestly think if jmm prepared for floyd the way he is preparing for pac, i think jmm wouldve had a better performance against floyd... floyd wouldve beat him regardless, based on speed and strength alone, but i definitely think it wouldnt have been as one-sided... jmm is a legend in his own right.

i can see jmm timing pac perfectly & fight a spirited fight... UNTIL he tastes pac's WW power. then jmm will switch gears and realize he isnt fighting the same beast (although i cant imagine jmm backing down, there might be a mercy stoppage). there is NO way jmm will hurt pac, unless he catches him with a PERFECT timed counter.

should be a fun fight for as long as it lasts.

I agree, pac is now a full WW & JMM a blown up 135...look @ size diff when he fought Floyd..HOF I would not put in Hame...maybe 126 Ernesto Marcel, who did almos a complete white-wash of Arguello, mostly unknown and vastly under rated champion...
