you talk about fighters being in their prime...but guess what dude? most of the best fighters in their division are in the early to late 30's...if u didnt know that, then i dont think u know boxing as much as u think u do.
when pac fought morales, barera, and marquez...they were all called old...both morales and barera werent even in their 30's when pac fought them. marquez was in his early and mid 30's when pac fought him. pac and mayweather are 32 and 34 respectively, but noone talks about both guys being old and shot. even against hatton, both pac and hatton are about the same age, but haters said hatton was old...old? if hatton, morales, barera are old...then how come they dont say pac is old?
as for cherry picking...how is cherry picking the best jr welterweight at that time cherry picked? and how is fighting 2 of the TOP 5 welterweight as being cherry picked?
as for catchweight, pac was the one that had to move up in weight against delahoya, then move down to fight hatton, then back up in weight to fight cotto...all those three weight changes he's done for those 3 fights was more of a disadvantage for him then any of those 3 fighters...being that delahoya was already in the planning to fight at the welterweight limit, being that it was hattons best natural fighting weight, and being that cotto only had to lose 1 lb off of his normal 146 official weigh-in weight...hates dont give credit for pacs going up in weight, then down, then up again.
as for the catchweight for the upcoming fight between pac/marquez, i dont even see a need for a catchweight being that both fighters weigh about the same on fight nite....marquez can go into official weight weighin what he normally does as a light weight and rehydrate to his usual mid to high 140's...while pac usually weighs in at around 144 and rehydrates to no higher than 147...
by the way, of the total 6 judges that scored the fight, 3 saw pac winning, 2 saw marquez winning, 1 saw a draw (this is the judge that scored it a 10-7 instead of a 10-6, which wouldve given pac a win in the first fight)...the official scores resemble what most boxing people saw, a close fight...but only haters will oppose the chosen winner.
as for marquez being almost 40, he's actually 38 (nice try tho for making marquez sound older than he really is)...if you know marquez, he'd still beat up most or all of the guys in his division...and that my friend is not being old. you dont call a guy old til he has slowed down or lost a couple or so in a row, such as the case with roy jones jr...so stop this talk about being old...because alot of the top boxers are in their early to late 30's...go do ur homework ;o)
i mean, is the klichtko brothers old?
is maravalla martinez old?
is fraud mayweather old?
is glen johnson old?
was bernard hopkins old in his late 30's and early 40's when he was beating up younger guys?
i can go on with this list...
and all of these boxers are basically the top boxers in their division
like i said, go do your home work
