What is so amazing about this?
When Pacquiao fought Oscar DelaHoya, he did so to prove that he like Mayweather could also defeat DLH. The difference was however, that Pacquiao fought DLH at a weight DLH hadn't made in 7 years.
The entire DLH/Pacquiao match was marketed as a David Vs Goliath match. In reality, Pacquiao weighed as much if not more than DLH on fight night. Where was the big vs little man element? How was that **** "amazing"?
Pacquiao's last 6 opponents have all been coming off the biggest losses of their careers ... with a tune up or 2 in between their loss and their fight with Pacquiao. How is THAT "amazing"?
What was the amazing part?
The catchweights? Or the fact that they were all coming off of huge losses before they took a tune up against club fighters to prepare for a fight with Pacquiao?
I am seriously asking what was amazing about any of that.
What was "amazing" about Pacquiao fighting for vacant belts against challengers instead of fighting for championships against champions? How in the world is that "amazing"?
Were any of these 6 men top fighters in their division at the time Pacquiao fought them? Absolutely not.
Maybe "amazing" means something different in the Philippines.
Or maybe its that Filipinos believed that Asian boxers were no good, and now that Pacquiao has had some success, THEY ARE AMAZED!
I don't know what's true for them, but the fact is that when you look at the reality of what Pacquiao has accomplished, it is not "amazing".
The man has a record where he used padding in his first 40 fights. That's amazing? That's embarrassing! 40 fights is unusually high.
Then, he used catchweights to compete at weights where he could have made the division limit. Its just that Team Pacquiao thought "Why go up when we can have these guys come down".
Not to mention the conflict of interests when Pacquiao fought 3 consecutive Top Rank fighters. One of them was banned at the time when he and Pacquiao fought, but Arum made it happen anyway. See any conflict of interest anyone?????
Please ... anyone ... show me the "amazing" part of what Pacquiao has done. I'm begging you.
I'm waiting. Because everything so far from *******s amounts to "Manny is Asian and a small guy. Its amazing that he's done this well so far."
Talk about stereotyping!
