agreed 100% this alone is the single biggest factor to whether i think this movie can be decent or not. as long as he looks the part, im sure he'd do a good job. i would like to see this movie made tho.

Exactly, Foxx doesn't look at all like Tyson, except he's black. I know they can do some stuff with makeup, but still. Michael Jai White is the best candidate, especially for the younger 80s Tyson when he was more lean. Hopefully HBO will release "Tyson" on DVD soon.

Jamie Foxx is perfect for the role. A great actor and a great impressionist. He can put the bulk on for sure. I gaurantee he will nail the role.

yeah Foxx was great in Ray so that makes him perfect for any male black role huh
That's not directed at you personally. I just see lots of people sucking Foxx's...because of Ray. I don't deny he was good, I thought he was very good in Great White Hype. But, that doesn't mean he should play Tubbs in the Miami Vice movie or Mike Tyson.

Here's pictures of Michael Jai White for those who don't know him:

How many ways can you spin his rise and fall?

He needs money to pay the IRS.

Jamie Foxx wants to put up his dukes. The Oscar-winning star of "Ray" tells GLARE there is another biopic he would love to bring to the big screen.

"I think the Mike Tyson story should be told on film," Foxx says.
"Nobody knows the stuff I know about Mike. Again, it's blow-your-mind material. He also speaks in phrases that make you listen."

Foxx even has logged some time with the champ.
"I was talking to Mike recently and he told me, 'Jamie, I don't even
have any money now. But I'm happy. I don't worry about anything.
I'm just happy. I'm even glad I don't have any money because now
nobody wants to do me wrong or f--- me over.'"

              Foxx shakes his head.

"You give any 19-year-old kid 60 million dollars and see just how
crazy it gets for him," he says.

So Foxx wants to film Tyson's story.

"It's not happening yet, but I believe in putting things in the air,"
he says with a smile. "Hopefully, something will catch."

Meanwhile, Foxx stars in the war film "Jarhead," which opens
              in November.
u guys know what Im sick and tired of, most people in life get one great chance and shot at a great life, tyson got his one shot and he screwed up so why the heck are people feeling sorry for him, the money he was making is a dream to someone like me, most people dont even get a chance at life like tyson had, people should stop feeling sorry for his ass...

Not sure if you're being sarcastic or not, there, but for me, I would definitely watch it. I have been a fan of Iron Mike's for a long time, and I totally agree that most of his behaviours were due to too much money at too young an age. And let's not forget how poor he grew up.
