Will Pacquiao or Mayweather ever topple De La Hoya?

Oscar is the ATG PPV King, don't have the figures at hand but his fights have generated over $600 million in PPV sales

He is ahead of the likes of Tyson, Holyfield and ofcourse Pacquiao and Mayweather.

Pacquiao and Mayweather are still active fighters but only have a few years left in the game I would imagine.

Could they dethrone Oscar as the ATG PPV King?

Don't have the figures at hand but I believe Pacquiao has generated somewhere around $400m and Mayweather around $350m

Both fighters are about 4-5 fights away from toppling Oscar.

Not sure if Mayweather will have those that many fights, Pacquiao might though.

IMO they will never topple DLH since probably Pac's and I know for a fact Floyd had their most PPV sales when they were fighting against DLH, so the plain answer is NO, they will NEVER be considered greater than DLH in that aspect....

Well we could be honest, or we could kid ourselves. The difference between Manny/Floyd-Oscar is that Oscar fought much better comp. Boxing simply cannot afford to have Manny cherrypick shot fighters or Floyd fighting the guys that give him credibility, but still he should beat comfortably. If they don't fight each other, neither are worthy to be compared to oscar in that sense. Another thing Floyd is trying to command bigger ppv money in a shaby economy, single handedly trying to kill the sport.

I'm talking about generating the most amount of money through PPV.

I think Oscar had somethign around $660m I think Pacquiao is around $400m and Mayweather may be just under that.

I think Pacquiao is generating around $80 million per a fight now, so 4 fights down the line could put him above Oscar, and if he fights Mayweather that could generate close to $200m

Manny isn't generating that per fight. Floyd could because he would be the only fighter with 2 over 2 mil+ ppv's, If he fights manny. Then he would need to fight only cotto or canelo and he would go over $660 mil because the fights would both be $65-$70 on ppv.

I think TS's point is that Manny is more active, therefore he's generating more money at the rate of 2 fights per year compared to Floyd's once a year. Although to be fair, Manny is more likely to retire first.
