I'm convinced, Toney was better than Roy in their primes.

I wont and will never disagree with this. But he always loses to Roy IMO.

Just a bad style match up for several reasons.. the main 1 being Toneys style does him no favors against roy, or even guys like Griffin for example ( dont get me started on him and Griffin LOL).


Toney is very flat footed, always has been.. because of that guys who used a lot of footwork always gave toney trouble. They'd always spin him, and he'd let them.. because he has very lazy foot work. Toney is and has always been a lazy guy when it came to moving his feet.

He gets spun, and then starts bending at teh waist whenever you attack. It just never worked out too well for him against those 2 guys.

No offense, but Toney is/was one of the most skilled fighters of this generation, while Maragrito was nothing more than a face first brawler with a great chin.....

Not sure if you follow soccer, but the GOAT Maradonna tested positive for banned substance...but it isnt held against him as much because, much like Toney, he has redeeming qualities like his skills.......unfortunately for Margarito, he has no redeeming qualities to fall back on.....
